Recently unearthed, Light My Fire is back on track and revving up its engines full force, this time with the next iteration from talented matching spirits, Max Joni & Onni. Roaring up the highway at full throttle, 'Indie Car' merges the finest of EBM and disco tropes laced with a Knight Rider vibe to it. Adventurous to the fullest, the opening slab, 'Indiana Jones', unleashes its tantalising flavours with optimum jazz and that Moroder-infused deluge of processed arpeggios and cross-dimensional bass manoeuvres for good measure. 

Unrelentingly hypnotic and poised for hi-impact DJ use, Joni and Onni carve out the kind of craggy relief'd electro beat that'll get maximal response from ravers and revellers on the prowl for a quality big-room churner. Support cut 'Kettcar' doesn't stray far from its predecessor's ambitions, laying down a slower yet equally physical workout, flush with the buzzing machine tango and jagged rhythms for everyone to relish. Bearing the hallmarks of Joni & Onni's dynamic-psychedelic style to a T, all set at etching its obsessive motifs on your prefrontal cortex from the minute you hear it, 'Indie Car' is a proper blast of fresh, fun and funky electronics, bound to jam the clubs' radars without further ado.

London based duo Pool Attendant's latest release 'Good Times' features two tracks, the eponymous 'Good Times' and the b side 'Everything Happens for a Reason'. A1 'Good Times' features a catchy loop and a familiar vocal sample. The b side is a big-beat homage featuring a breakbeat groove and classic house vocals. The project draws inspiration form the big-beat scene of the early 2000s/ late 1990s. The tracks were produced with the likes of Fatboy Slim/ Cassius/ The Chemical Brothers/ Wildchild & Ian Pooley in mind. The duo's latest release follows their EP 'Hold Me' on nervous records and they have a number of singles and EPs planned for 2020. Release date 23/02/20.

March 13 - Best In Me

Blackpool’s Koldar serves up a slice euphoric breakbeat for the first release on his newly formed imprint Electric Ray. His music delivers huge synths, raw basslines and energetic percussion. There's no surprise then that the likes of James Zabiela, Annie Nightingale and Tensnake all support his sound.

Koldar is no stranger to the electronic music scene, as label head and artist of Foreign Language Records he has worked with the likes of K-Klass, Mystic Bill and Justin Robertson. His latest venture Electric Ray aims to showcase a more melodic and expressive sound, drawing inspiration from the raves and parties of his youth.

The debut release ‘This is it’ sets a precedent for the label with its powerful vocal, distorted bass and bold synths. Josh Hussaney takes things up a level with a remix befitting of any warehouse rave, giving a nod to his old hardcore days.

Experimental Saint Petersburg-based sonic shapeshifter Bop is back on Hospital Records with his brand new five-track ‘Perehod’ EP that ventures afar from his usual drum & bass status as he spans through 2-step, breakbeat and ambient: all with his spellbinding signature production finesse which has already received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Alec Falconer, Because Of Art and Oneman.

Opening piece ‘NDE’ casts Bop’s archetypal and skittery off-beat rhythms across a palate of soothing synth pads, adventurous arpeggios and dusty hoover bass drones. Subtly funky throughout, the tinges of garage vocal stabs shimmer across this imaginative stepper.

‘Take Your Time’ offers up thought provoking chord progressions amongst Bop’s contemplative sound . A super low-slung drum pattern makes way for the crisp, immersive vocal tones that flutter elegantly above.

Switching to fifth gear, ‘Beach Simulator 3D’ leads the charge with up-tempo breakbeats racing across dubby chord stabs and eerie percussive effects. A late-night ride you’ll need to buckle your seatbelt for, Bop initiates intergalactic mode on this one.

‘Skolzkaya Dorozhka’, meaning ‘Slippery Slope’ in Russian, is a wobbly dub groove that channels styles from mid-noughties DMZ and Tempa releases, a heavy sub drives through a minimalist half-time groove.

Finally, the 150+ BPM whopper ‘Hiding’ is a nod to Bop’s love for dance music which can be found at the faster end of the electronic spectrum. Ticking hats and warm atmospherics are the perfect wrap-up to a truly special release.

No stranger to pioneering successful moves outside the realms of 174BPM, Bop secured the number 1 spot on the Beatport Garage chart alongside Subwave with ‘Haze’. With support over the years from the likes of DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, not to mention the running of his very own esteemed Microfunk imprint, Bop continues to affirm himself as an undeniable dance music pillar.
