"Sketches from Croatia" is the soundtrack of a month in Croatia (13/07/2021 - 11/08/2021), the recordings were made in Zadar, Split, Osijek, Vukovar, Zagreb and on the road between these different cities.

In honor of Pi.  This is created from the sound of a wine glass being rubbed by a wet finger and the sound of a tabla drum.  There are three loops.  Each loop goes through the first one hundred digits of Pi where each digit of Pi controls the pitch and amplitude of each note.  In the first loop, there are 3.14 seconds between each note.  The second loop starts 3.141 seconds after the first.  In the second loop, there are 3.1415 seconds between each note.  The third loop starts 3.14159 seconds after the second.  In the third loop (the tabla), there are 3.141592 seconds between each hit.  Finally, the duration of this piece is 314 seconds (and some change).  I hope you enjoy it. Peace.

Between my overly exuberant demented spirit and the gradual advancing of my dementia, I have managed to collect a plethora of ex-wives and ex-girlfriends... this song aptly applies to them all. Anywho... Im hoping that my collection of custom made 3 string bass guitars will soon surpass the number of my happy surviving exes. ...

As PureData, Emiliano Pennisi crafts otherworldly electro-acoustic compositions formed from a vault of sound drawn from synthesis, field recordings and contemporary computer music.

Dissimulazione hints towards a profound knowledge of techno rigour but skirts any obvious geometries in favour of obfuscated and meta-coded electronics, those culutured in laboratory environments. Indeed Pennisi has honed his ear on the historical importance of INA-GRM and Metamkine, purporting to a specific love of Horacio Vaggiones’ work, alongside that of Aaron Dilloway and earlier electronic music via Smithsonian Recordings. These influences can be felt amongst other more academic guides through mathematics and cosmology.

The music is a flickering screen, a boiling crucible and an orbiting craft at once. Jerome Noetingers concept of "Cinema for the Ear" is once again beautifully realised. The music dramatic and often unearthly yet always reconnected to human agency, feelings of disorder, ordered and our earth crawling with insects and digital signals alike, all emitters in the eye of the same.

Without falling further into hysterics and hyperbole allow yourself time to listen and perceive the depth and detail of these works which cover a period between 2016 and 2024 and only scratches the surface of this artists body of work.
