Now, that’s what 3000Grad Special stands for: Music made to maximise the bustle of the dancefloor, but with an unusual, original twist. Special. Bonfante delivers two perfect examples for this kind of sound. Aldeapolis lifts our spirits like the promise of t-shirt weather. Her voice sneaks between the beats in rhythmic fragments first, only in the second half her singing breaks through fully with a catchy flourish. The retro-infused, rhythmically stripped-down to the maximum remix of Mollono.Bass focuses entirely on the vocal. Cyborgs Like Unicorns Too is playful and humorous not only in its title, here Bonfante creates a mighty recognition factor by using the outrageously cool sound of an electric guitar. The remix of Stimming throbs along under the influence of acid, leading us into the rather trippy environment of a late party hour.

Acid Pauli - BLD Remixes B 

Acid Pauli’s album BLD dropped last year and was a superb reminder of Martin Gretschmann’s unique place within the electronic music.
Breathing musicality and adventurousness into everything that he does, the album covered a number of moods and emotions, from dystopian carnivalesque vibes to moments of high intensity, through to deep melancholia and synth laden ambience.

Following on from the “A” remix package, “B” brings another huge selection of producers into the fray to reinterpret the originals.

First up, Hamburg hero Stimming works over 'Amadou' - flipping the original, into a techy bomb. A thick kick underpins a shuffling, off kilter rhythm and beautifully treated melodics. Stimming’s feel for gently pushing the dancefloor into new places shines through.

'René' is reworked by Roman Flügel, the Ongaku/Klang/Playhouse boss whose influence on the European electronic music scene has been immense. Always willing to experiment, 'René' is the perfect canvas - arpeggiated blips and beeps echo primitive electronic explorations by the likes of Francis Bebey, and a huge subby kick drum take this track into space.

Axel Boman sets to work on 'Jeanne', locking into his signature groovy, tribal approach to working the dancefloor. The Swedish producer adds dubby elements, an irresistible percussion track and disruptive, random sounds to the thick, heady mix.

Dutch wunderkind Satori tackles 'Jorge' - twisting the original into a psychedelic groover that finds room for backwards vocals, marimba-like melodies, fat basslines and shuffling breakbeats.

Lastly, label co-founder Nico Stojan remixes 'Verbos', and finds a way to twist it into an energetic yet deep dancefloor burner.

Mollono.Bass turns the maze of your brain into the rampant thicket of a jungle. The latest release by the Mexican avant-garde label Akumandra is founder Sainte Vie’s three track auditive voyage: From Desolate Places and Forgotten Times. Going beyond previous experimentation with sound assemblage and sampling from non-western musical traditions, Sainte Vie crafts his signature mesmerizing soundscapes by combining dreamlike synth textures, monumental drops and vibrant melodies that feel deeply melancholic. Insistent arpeggios and expansive build ups bind the tracks together in an ebb and flow of dynamic energy.

High Seas 
Overlaid synth patterns, like waves, propel us into a mixed-percussion drop that settles on a harmonic calm before another surge of synth arpeggios drive us farther along into the thrilling sensation of voyage.

Whale
Disembodied vocals, like cetaceans communicating, echo each other, creating a ghostly undercurrent to the vigorous percussion and futuristic synth arpeggios.

Darko
Backed by an eerie melody and punctuated by a lead-heavy bass drum, a deep, guttural voice plunges us into the dark flow of time.
