Danish artist Be Svendsen combines once more with the Crosstown Rebels crew, following on from his emphatic NU 'Man O To' remix, which landed in late February. The latest collaboration comes in the form of the new 'Twilight in Tankwa' EP, it comes with two original cuts as well as a remix from Berlin native Nico Stojan. Lasse Bruhn Svendsen ,as he's known to his friends and family, has been a proponent of refreshing electronic music since his emergence in 2014 and the work he started continues with yet another special record. The title track is a slow-winding groover that's coated with intricate melodic touches, while an engrossing atmosphere rotates around a punchy drum ensemble. It sounds as smooth and precise as the flight of a falcon in the hot winds of the desert when Shkoon draw their ethereal sound loops around us. The harmony of Arabian singing, string instrument and synthesized melodies is extremely rich in overtones and shimmers from the speaker membranes like the heat haze over the endlessness of a dune landscape. That's not even the whole story, because this EP is is as wondrous, multicoloured and unforeseeable as the fever dreams induced by the sting of a tropical insect: Musical globetrotter Timboletti sends us flying with his remix, Herrhausen & Treindl interpret Shkoon in the context of their unique slow-motion ecstasy, and JPattersson delivers original Progadub tunes, with his trumpet.

The sophisticated raciness of Dole & Kom is always a fascinating thing to witness. Their title ‘Samoja’ means serious business in terms of beats, bass and the resulting danceability. The playful instrumentations and afro vocal part of this title create a very musical counterpart. ‘Juniper’, their streamlined second track on this EP, follows a trajectory that clearly aims at a good time on the dancefloor while its mighty hypnotic potential remains hovering in the background like an otherworldly presence. Variation is always good and that's why there's two remixes, as well: Mollono.Bass with an energetic departure and Elfenberg with a tribalistic flow experience.
