Seriously well-thought out lyrics. The music swells, turns murky, somewhere behind the murk a cheery tune and a cheery vocalist singing with a swing in his voice.

Given how dark and thoughtful the lyrics are, the vocalist sounds almost unnaturally cheerful. I guess there's no percentage in sounding too miserable even if life is tough.
