French Décalé records launching new sub-label Feng Shit Records. 
Born from eponymous LYL’s radioshow, this new imprint will highlight electronic and experimental music from contemporary artists. (Vs Décalé that focuses only on reissues). 
The launching release is a 14-track compilation on tape called "Castalia Drops". We took our project inspiration into Greek mythology: the water fountain of Castalia, frequented by the oracle Pythia of Delphi, were capable of inspiring poetic creation to those who drink its water or listen to its murmur.
In that context, Castalia Drops delivers a futuristic testament of club no-club music rooted in melancholia. A prediction of fourteen titles by warned visionaries (Epsilove, Christian Coiffure), freshly illuminated (OKO DJ, Dhakira, Explorations Silencieuses) from France, Switzerland and the super talented Israeli Tai Rona. It’s an ode to destiny oscillating from softening aural breezes (Eiger Drums Propaganda, Aloe, AM Khamsaa) to psychedelics rituals (Gavr, One Foot Step & Nitrate) and spiritual dance substrates (808Hz, Yolek, Antoine). 
The 4-sided insert contains also inspirational texts and poems provided by the artists themselves in their languages of preference like Romanche and Hungarian. 
The curation of the compilation has been done by Orsett & Fischer from Décalé, the mastering by Louis de La Gorce (from the Pilotwings) and the graphic design by the Swiss Martin Cramatte.

The idea for Suemori's new alias arose in conversation with Osàre! Editions label boss, Elena Colombi. An inheritance from his grandfather, the name sets the tone of the album that synthesises traditional Japanese instruments into an electronic format. Dub and drone’s eerie resonance collides with staccato electro and fizzling acid on ‘Yakkosan.’ Driven by a meditative beat, flutes and choral voices glide through 'Senpai Kouhai' while ‘Hankumoi’ shudders with lucid synth. The cultural iconography of Japan emerges from this dark, textual landscape, haunted both by the ghosts of the past and spectral sound of the future.

Following a debut appearance on the reverse label in 2020, Bristol-based artist Ido Plumes is back on Livity Sound with four tracks of experimental dance music for soundsystems. Plumes established his sound with pointillist drums and echo chamber atmospherics the first time around, and now he builds on that premise with a more dense and dramatic approach.
Plumes’ layered tracks follow non-linear narratives, switching lanes and exploring unusual, evocative landscapes while retaining a fundamental physicality. Longer form tracks like ‘Afloat’ cover a lot of ground across their run time, while the likes of ‘Been Here’ revel in audacious plot twists to create strikingly confident and original variations on the UK dance music tradition.

De Lichting is a collective of music producers and djs alike, who as friends share a similar vision on electronic music. Originating from a group of friends in art school, their first double vinyl compilation was released last spring. The project aims to release music from the artists within the group exclusively, on a broad scale of the electronic spectrum from ambient to house/techno, and more experimental forms. De Lichting takes on a DIY-mentality, taking responsibility for everything in the creative process, thus being free to do what is best for the project's total image.
In principle, this is comparable to the feeling when you stayed in the studio for a long time in search of this "only one" sound and atmosphere, and when you finally get it and go out into the outside , you get that dose of everyday routine and horror from everything that happens in external world. 
Fantastic compilation once again, higly recomended to the lovers of futuristic and fresh sounds.

After 5 years of 'Fortnightly Freebies' columns collating our favourite free downloads, we decided to do things a bit differently for the 100th chapter. Introducing 'Big Material', a 19-track 'name your price' compilation that will donate 100% of profits made to Stonewall Housing, a London-based charity supporting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

At a time when unfair austerity is increasing inequality and leaving so many behind, we hope to support a community that has given so much to the 'scene' and music we love. Digi-dub abstractions and drifting ambient to kaleidoscopic breaks and newly-coined genre, 'subtle donk', it's a pretty accurate microcosm of the If-Only curation as a whole.

Big Material pulls together music from some of If-Only's favourite artists, with tracks from @apsychicyes, @riveryarra, Material Things (@12th-isle), @priori-ties, @nicholaswilson1982 & @steviewhisper, @benoitb, @maxabysmal, @58daniel, @bogdan-drazic, @whyesss, @twitch, @warzouk, @thomasbakk, @eyemeasure, @rdjm0, @furiousfrank, Moonphase (AKA @cl_lit), @moonbowmusic and @aki-aki.

Even a historical pandemic couldn't take summer hits away from our hearts. Exceptional circumstances means extraordinary compilation. 

Worst Records' hall of fame welcomes new faces around the pool for a 13-stages enlightened drama. You'll meet again with the top 3 podium made of A Strange Wedding, Jacques Satre and Christian Coiffure, all rensponsible for our first three releases, building up a mesmerizing, out of season mental workout. Extending the dimension of trance towards Saint-Etienne, Del.Duc brings on a curious yet serene astral travel, and we can also count on the distant reinforcements from the Toulouse Gouffre Club crew with Jan Loup and her glitch spangled hazy dub from far futures and the new trance comer from Bordeaux, Lazuli.
Special friends are also gathering here, as Myako is sewing on thin fabric a vaporous dub in shades of grey, the one-and-only master touki Théo Muller delivers a cinematic remedy to confinement.
Liberation through hearing, it is, as borders explode with the presence of many : Yin Yang Audio in a transatlantic IDM/break jump, Forest on Stasys (aka Mental Resonance) and his tough shamanic dance, Clemens Friedrich slowing down all senses at once and JEANS, boss of Oracle Bones, speeding us up in the hyperloop. 
Finally, as teamwork means a lot, we have given the pleasure to open this compilation to the four-headed Lausanne/Freiberg hydra 4POTR and their cryptic transdimensional message, and the honor of closing this pool party to the 404 trio gem from Candoblé with a fine piece of wonder. 

Not exactly your usual summer compilation, nor the hits you could imagine, but surely the music you'll need under the hot sun of 2020.
