Krishna Das is one of the most popular singers of Indian devotional music in the world. Layering traditional Hindu kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Krishna Das has been called yoga's "rock star." With a remarkably soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in even the most casual listener, Krishna Das – known to friends, family, and fans as simply KD – has taken the call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling western chant artist of all time. His album ‘Live Ananda’ (released January 2012) was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age album category.  He released a string of well-received albums including "PILGRIM HEART", "BREATH OF THE HEART" and "DOOR OF FAITH," the former featuring the vocals of KD fan Sting, and the latter two both produced by Rick Rubin and utilizing, at the producer's request, a palette of traditional Indian instrumentation. 地域に耳を傾けると、素晴らしい音、残していくべき音が多くあることに気付きます。2008年から72名のワークショップ参加者により録音された、1017もの音の素材「音風景」をもとに、その活用と可能性を考えます。身近な音を録音・編集し、様々な場所や環境に合わせて再生を楽しむワークショップ、パソコンを使って音源を編集し作品つくりを試みるワークショップ、作曲作品公募などを行ないます。集大成として3月に、音風景の音源を複数のスピーカーで体験するインスタレーションや、ダンスとのコラボレーション、公募作品発表、シンポジウムとコンサートを開催します。2012年度までに集めた音源を「音風景ライブラリー」として配信中。http://www.chinoshiminkan.jp/archives/index_Otofuukei.htm

The name YAIMA emerges from two sources
one from the Mapudungun language meaning "that which water runs through”
and the other from the culturally preserved Yaeyama District of Okinawa Japan- 
Over the last 5 years YAIMAs music has been reaching the ears and hearts
of listeners from all around the world.
