Eva Swan delivers today's Guest Mix, underscoring her penchant for in-your-face, hard and ravey techno.

Eva Swan marked her fourth release ‘Vogel’ with a set of three thundering techno tracks on 14 December 2020. Continuing a strong run of heavy duty self-released singles, Eva Swan announced the fifth installment on her own Eva Swan Records. With earlier releases earning support from DJs such as Slam, False Witness, Luke Slater, and Machine Woman, Eva cemented herself as a key player with this release, further honing her signature sound.

The DJ, producer, women’s rights activist and environmentalist has a strong foundation in music, having started to learn music theory at the age of 8, along with the guitar and flute by the age of 12, before the piano and vocal training later at 18. Eva Swan’s entry point into electronic music came through working in clubs –cleaning jobs, bartender, hostess and coat check attendant – before taking a one-way flight to Ibiza.

As a promoter on the white isle, Eva Swan became immersed in the scene, becoming well-acquainted with clubs, DJs and the variation of sounds around her, accelerating her propensity for club-geared sounds. Teaming this with her early proficiency for classical forms and instruments, Eva’s sound encompasses a distinct appreciation for raw music elements.

Having appeared on line-ups at venues such as Café d’Anvers Antwerp, and Le Bistrot de St So - Gare Saint Sauveur Lille, alongside the likes of I HATE MODELS, Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca, ‘Equality’, Eva Swan’s 2019 debut EP paved the way for her ascension into electronic music – gaining media support from Mixmag, Slam Radio, HATE Lab, Dance Wax, Complex, Attack Magazine, KALTBLUT, Soundwall, Klubikon, Inverted Audio, DJ Mag ES, …

6AM Guest Mix: Eva Swan

Welcome to the 23rd edition of the Apparition Show on Radio Techno Norway! We are really happy to have techno duo Stephanie Noordermeeer and Erik Pijl from the Netherlands with us, for a back to back session of pure energetic techno!

Stephanie and Eric plays their favourite techno for the first hour of the show, and Oyhopper will finish it off, to make it two full hours of quality techno!

Erik Pijl is a DJ / Producer from The Netherlands. His interest in electronic music arose in the breakbeat scene of Amsterdam in the late nineties.

Stephanie Noordermeer also born in The Netherlands has been a fan of techno since 2010 and a DJ since 2018 and later also a producer. The music that most appeals to her and that she uses in her mixes is especially full of good bass and vocals. She got this inspiration to often go to Rotterdam techno clubs and big electronic festivals.

Erik and Stephanie also got to know each other in the nightlife and they have been inspiring each other ever since. A few years later with several releases on Syntax Error UK, Hijacked Records Detroit, Momb Records Berlin, Iovem Records Italy and Trip Records Italty. Tracks are supported by Ben Sims, Boxia and S-File, PET Duo, among others. Recently an EP was released on Hijacked Records Detroit called The Great Noise and in December / January there will be a vinyl release on Syntax Error of which the test pressing has already been received.

Born and raised in Venezuela, SOTO moved to London in 2014 and fell in love with the techno world, attending every party and festival she could.

Graciela Soto aka SOTO, made her debut in January 2019 for the Strange DNA crew at the LadyBird bar, enjoying every second behind the decks feeling the energy of the crowd.

With eclectic influences ranging from more melodic acid tunes to hardcore industrial bangers, she adapts to the crowd but always maintains her own spin, with her heart always beating strong.
