Casmalia is a producer, DJ, songwriter, and live vocalist residing in San Diego, CA, who has taken the west coast house music scene by storm. A classically trained musician with a degree in audio engineering, Casmalia has been consistently churning out club weapons since her freshman EP in 2017 on Hood Politics Records. She has since earned affiliations with Insomniac Records, mau5trap, Night Bass, Box of Cats, IN/ROTATION, Farris Wheel, Space Yacht, and more. She was named one of “2022’s Artists to Watch” by both Nightenjin and EDM Identity, citing both her increasing festival bookings and successful releases. Her tracks have seen support from David Guetta, Claude VonStroke, AC Slater, Green Velvet, Bijou, Gene Farris, Noizu, Kyle Watson, and many more across both the EDM and tech house worlds. After her widely acclaimed release “Four Letter Word” on the mau5trap/Insomniac Records compilation album in 2021, her tour schedule took off and hasn’t slowed down since. Some highlights include singing live at both EDC Las Vegas and the DoLab stage at Coachella, a 2023 Splash House debut, closing for Diplo at a sold out show at The Midway in San Francisco, performing at both the 9 and 10 year anniversary parties for AC Slater’s Night Bass in 2023 and 2024, and providing direct support for both Kyle Watson and Noizu on their 2023 tours. She recently hosted the May 2023 edition of Femme House sessions, partnering with LP Giobbi’s flagship project to provide free educational resources to women and LGBT+ artists. Casmalia is also a Groove Cruise resident, playing 4 festivals in a row including a b2b2b with VNSSA and LP Giobbi on Groove Cruise 2024.

" Since I was born I feel attracted by music. I listen to almost all genres. In 1990 I fell in love with electronic music. Started dreaming of spinning vinyl, bought my first records. I had access to equipment but was too shy and nervous to pursue my dream. In 2015 I started again this time digital Djing. First as Djane Octavia I was playing Deep House, House and Tech House. Later also Techno, Hard Techno and Acid Techno. When I started playing techno, I got more recognition. Had the honour to perform in different radio shows and began to publish sets on Soundcloud and Mixcloud: BASSINJECTION CUEBASE-FM.DE SHB-Showcase Planet X & CLUBIO PRESENT FORWARD Natural Instinct Since December 2017 I use Djane Octavia only for the other genres and have a new name for techno: Djane Darkness. (Story continued from Witchtape #80)
Surrounded by white water lilies, the little witch and the young nymph enjoyed their relaxed bath in the little pond (which a friendly family of badgers had dug for the nymph only the day before).  She was actually a tree nymph who had travelled all the way from South-East Asia to fulfill her life-long mission to protect the tiny oak tree the witch had planted 2 years ago.  That tree was destined to live for over a thousand years and become one of the mother trees of the forest ecosystem.   After a while, the 2 girls waded out of the water and followed a winding treasure trail of mushrooms which led them to a carpet of dry moss next to the tiny oak tree.  When the girls arrived at the scene, a couple of badgers quickly scrambled away.  It appeared the sweet little animals had made 2 flower crowns for the witch and the nymph.
The girls sat down on their knees and put the flower crowns on each other’s head.  It was the first day of November and there were still a lot of colorful leaves hanging on the majestic beech and maple trees (which is unusually late for the time of the year and a consequence of the wet and mild autumn).  Also the tiny oak tree still had all her leaves – 11 in total.  The witch and the nymph sat face-to-face on their knees on the soft moss, which was in the middle of a near-perfect witch’s ring of mushrooms (scurfy twiglets to be precise) which were covered by golden drops of morning dew.  
The little witch admired the innocent unspoiled beauty of the nymph, while the Asian girl was mesmerized by the European witch’s green eyes.  The little witch felt really energized by the presence of the nymph.  After a few minutes, she was surprised to see a pulsating pink light inside the nymph’s chest, showing the nymph’s pure heart.  And when looking down at her own body, the witch was surprised to see the same pink pulsations of her own heart.  Both girls briefly giggled when looking at this magic spectacle of their throbbing hearts.  Without thinking, both girls laid their right hand at the other girls chest at exactly the same moment and felt each other’s heartbeat.  Amazingly, the heartbeats of witch and nymph were perfectly in sync.  After a few minutes, also their right arms started to emit a pinkish glow while both girls felt more and more energized.  While their hearts started to beat faster and faster, the girls noticed that the ring of mushrooms had started to emit a pink pulsating light, and a few seconds later also the tiny future mother tree had turned pink and started to pulsate at the same pace as the girls’ heartbeats.  While their hearts kept on beating faster and faster, the 1m58 tall witch felt a powerful energy flowing through her whole body, which spread further and further beyond the witch’s ring of twiglets until finally all trees of the forest were resonating with the two girls.  At one point, one leaf fell from the tiny tree, followed in quick succession by the 10 remaining leaves.  The girls felt how their heartbeats reached maximum speed now and this sent a wave of energy through the whole forest and all trees started to shed their leaves simultaneously.  The witch and the nymph enjoyed the colorful spectacle of colorful leaves falling like snowflakes in all corners of the forest.  This whirl of leaves lasted a few minutes while the heartbeats of the girls gradually slowed down.  The whole forest was in awe … this was easily the most glorious autumn peak the forest had ever seen …

Some of you figured it out already. Here's the full upload of our 43rd podcast. @acquarioimmersioni is on recording duties. These fine dudes throw monthy daytime parties at Masada, Milan. From the dangerous part of the city of Montevideo, Uruguay in the late ’90s, William started his journey in music at the early age of 11 helping programming music and DJing for a pirate radio station.

Since that moment, he never stopped to define his own style and taste of music while improving his technical skills.

In 2009 he started to release his own productions under different monikers, releasing several works in digital and physical format.

In 2017 things changed when the decision was made to focus exclusively on his new project called William Arist and also the launch of his own record label Perseverancia Records.

Since then, he has played with artists such as Anastasia Kristensen, CTRLS, Adriana Lopez, Aleja Sanchez, Dax J, DVS1, Eduardo De La Calle, Ellen Allien, Kolpos, Mekas, Pfirter, P.E.A.R.L., Setaoc Mass, Vinicius Honorio and many more.

His eclectic productions have seen his music land on a variety of labels such as Animal Farm (UK), DEAD CERT. Records (UK), Tauten (SRB), Abstraction (CUB), Liberta (UK), Knowledge Imprint (ZA) amongst others.

His music has been supported by artists like Richie Hawtin, Charlotte de Witte, Joris Voorn, Truncate, Ben Sims, Cari Lekebusch, Tensal, Dave Clarke, Drumcomplex etc etc…

Chicagoland techno producer, DJ and Northern Parallels label boss Mike Derer delivers today's Guest Mix.

Mike Derer runs Northern Parallels, widely becoming one of North America’s most diverse and looked at techno labels.  Northern Parallels on top of being a label runs a monthly event night, celebrating it’s 4 year anniversary for events in December.  Also, in December is the 15th release for Northern Parallels, a compilation of 16 tracks from 17 artists, featuring DJ Hyperactive, Dustin Zahn, Lindsey Herbert, Gabriella Vergilov, Miller & Bosscher (half of duo Abstract Division), Deraout and FBK to name a few.  

With over 20 years experience DJing, Mike’s style ranges from hypnotic, stripped-down techno to acid, electro and body moving music.
