Echoføn is the project of Detroit producers and Blank Code co-founders Chad Parraghi and Corbin Davis. Their music pulls from the roots of Detroit techno while folding in the energy of drum & bass and the complexity of polyrhythms, giving their tracks a sound that feels both raw and forward-looking.

Through their work with Blank Code, Parraghi and Davis have long been part of Detroit’s underground, building spaces for artists and pushing new ideas into the scene. Echoføn is a natural extension of that—two voices combining into something new, but still grounded in the city that shaped them.

Their first release, the Empty Space EP on Modern Relics Records, has already picked up support from artists like Polygonia, Kangding Ray, and Forest on Stasys, marking an exciting start for what’s ahead.

It's our pleasure and honor to present this week's Global Vibe Radio mix, featuring Los Angeles techno flag-bearer Truncate.

Established in early 2011, Truncate is the raw, deep, jackin techno and house project of David Flores, who is also widely known for his productions as Audio Injection

After being introduced to electronic music back as a teenager in the early '90s in Los Angeles, Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. 

After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F and Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as a resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

They say all great things are worth waiting for, and we couldn't agree more on a day when we are able to welcome Los Angeles techno flag-bearer Drumcell for his first Global Vibe Radio mix.

Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in LA’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work.

To say that Drumcell's work as a curator is synonymous with the Los Angeles techno scene as we know it today would be an understatement. First as co-founder of Droid Behavior, the label that ultimately gave birth to the infamous now-defunct Interface event series, and more recently as co-founder of Observe, Drumcell has been active in curating avant-garde techno events for decades. It is these events, as well as Drumcell's own productions, that have not only put LA on the international techno map, but have inspired countless other artists and event curators (6AM included) to contribute to their local techno scenes. 

A classically trained musician in his youth, Moe came to circulate around the Noise, Punk and Industrial scene, playing guitar and singing in various bands until he discovered the early ‘90s LA rave scene. 

That was when he got in touch with some of the heroic synthesizers of techno’s early years. His enthusiasm for those synthetic sounds lead to a career as a Product Specialist at Native Instruments and to independent musician and engineer work across Los Angeles. Some of his studio contributions include work for Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb, Gary Numan, George Clinton, Kool Keith, Qbert, and Cut Chemist.

By then, Moe was chuffed to pursue his own productions. When he handed out his first self-produced, self-pressed vinyls at the DEMF in 2001, he heard them being played from the festival stages the very next day. Since then, he has released original productions or remixes on DROID, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Dystopian, Torque, Silent Steps, Blank Code, Ibadan, Detroit Underground, and more. This style has caught the attention of many of the world’s top techno jocks, with strong track support from the likes of Luke Slater, Speedy J, and Chris Leibing. This style has also reached numerous prestigious international clubs and festivals. From Berlin’s techno mecca Berghain to the main stage of Movement in Detroit to North American nightclubs like Output and Stereo to festivals across Europe, Latin America, Japan and Australia – Drumcell’s sound is being heard around the world.

In 2016, Drumcell debuted his ambient project HYPOXIA on his experimental label BL_K NOISE, producing infinite movement with his Buchla and Eurorack systems. Hypoxia all hardware performance have been heard at highly curated atmospheres from Atonal and Berghain in Berlin to Brooklyn’s Greyscale Series at Output to pop-up concerts on the LA River.

Drumcell explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style. Influenced by a myriad of music as well as science fiction and machines, he has developed an addiction to analog synthesis which has led to ceaseless experiments in his studio in search of new, mind-expanding sounds. As one of the most esoteric techno artists in North America, his sound disregards genre limitations and is everything but conventional techno.

Number 060 in our catalogue, and we are keeping it tight and sharp. Oscar Mulero is the mind behind this creature, offering three cuts of merciless techno exercises both physically and digitally.


Opening track is Tormenta, Storm in spanish, a fast paced groove with almost all elements up from the very beginning. Wisely distorted drums, continuous filtered sequences, a sharp elastic line running and mutating across the structure. Direct and mental at the time.


Espectro Rojo, Red spectrum translated begins with obsessive distorted evolving lines, shuffled hi hats and precise kicks. The stereo field is constantly worked out augmenting the experience exponentially.


Gradiente de Voltaje closes the EP, the overall feel is less distorted and more opaque and lo-fi. The liquid filtered bassline is soon joined by distorted hats, alternating patterns and twisting the sounds wisely. No sudden interruptions, no abrupt changes, just the right dose of hypnosis to use as a powerful tool.
