Following on from their recent album on Italian imprint Just This, Hunter/Game present the Silence Remixes out June 7th, featuring contributions from Radio Slave, Inland and Jamaica Suk amongst others.

Silence is a spiralling voyage into the depths of blissful ambience and meditative techno from Milan-based duo Hunter/Game. Arriving after a series of acclaimed EPs on the same label, it is an aesthetic statement of intent, carving out serene spaces of melancholy and upliftment.

For the remixes EP, a carefully chosen selection of artists provide varying interpretations of stand-out tracks from the album. Radio Slave turns ‘Dead Soul’ into a marching ground of melodic techno, whilst Inland breathes robotic life into ‘Crashed Sounds’ and Wrong Assessment levitate ‘Fragments’ over murky waters. Closing off the vinyl is Jamaica Suk’s ominous restructuring of ‘Reaction’.

Owners of the digital release will receive three further remixes. Vessels turns ‘Evolution’ into a broken dreamscape of stepping percussion, whilst Just This affiliate Scissors forges a stripped back, tripped out version of ‘Memories’. Also featured digitally is a second version of Jamaica Suk’s ‘Reaction’ remix.

Hunter/Game - Dead Soul (Radio Slave Remix)

Maceo Plex’s taste-making Ellum Audio serves up a sizzling EP from Madben, featureing a remix from men of the moment Brame & Hamo.

Frenchman Madben has a healthy reverence for Jeff Mils and Detroit techno that infuses all his work. He has been mentored by Laurent Garnier and released on a wealth of quality labels from Bedrock to Suara. A resident of the Rex Club in Paris where he puts on his MAAD parties, he is now a regular in the best clubs around Europe where he serves up his always profound sounds, something he does again here.

First up is the fantastic ‘Blooming’, with its old school rave styles and dusty breakbeats. Euphoric chords light up the whole thing and it’s a tune that is sure to get hands in the air.

Brame & Hamo are Irish sensations who are based in Berlin and known for big tunes that range from house to techno to disco. After establishing their own label they step out with a remix that is superbly stripped back. On deep rolling drums, sleek synths unfold and take you on a cosmic adventure that is well paced and cinematic.

Madben’s ‘Enjoy Yourself' is well-crafted techno with a sense of progression in the ever-evolving lead synths. Rumbling drums provide the power below and filtered, whispered vocals are an intriguing detail up top. 

Last of all, ‘Haze’ is a prickly track with snappy mental drums, off kilter synths that twist and turn and a dark energy that is tinged with industrialism.

This is a fresh techno offering that comes with plenty of new ideas that are all expertly executed.

ELL052 Madben - Enjoy Yourself

The "12th Mix" is a sharp and clean, four-on-the-floor groover. The sound flirts between the genres of Techno and Electro. It oozes in 80's influence, raw, and stripped bare with playful synth work.  The vocals draw an early Juan Atkins-Cybotron meets Punk influence.

In a brief interview around his latest Drumcode release, Oscar L explains how "When I started producing 'Dark Fate' I wanted to try something techno and groovy. I got inspired by the original soundtrack movie from ‘Terminator' and actually this is where the title of the track is coming from. I think 'Dark Fate' is a strong weapon for DJs to get the crowd into the techno mood without hitting too hard".

If you want a snapshot of where techno stands in any given year, and a preview of where it’s headed, look no further than Drumcode’s A-Sides compilation. Since 2012 it has marked the label debuts of countless vital Drumcode artists and affiliates, from Layton Giordani, Wehbba and Boxia, to Amelie Lens and ANNA, no less. Every year, new names are unearthed, tried and true techno contributors serve up their best, and icons of the industry land their debut on Adam Beyer’s storied label.

The 2020 edition hits with 13 tracks, eight coming from label debutants. There’s Eats Everything searing rave bomb ‘Organico’ and Dubfire’s ice-cool electro offering ‘Deadbug’, both artists landing their maiden contributions to DC after long affiliations with Beyer. With three EPs in less than two years on Truesoul, Oscar L steps up to DC, showing the breadth of his sound palette with a soaring, synth-laden gem ‘Dark Fate’. Belgians Joyhauser featured at last year’s Drumcode Festival paving the way for ‘Fierceness’, a beautiful melody-drenched cut befitting their DC cap. Anfisa Letyago is another first timer and shows why she’s one of the scene’s most highly touted new artists with the brooding beast ‘Are You In’. A growing label favourite, Juliet Fox follows up ‘Was Beautiful’, her superb track on last year’s A-Sides, with ‘Our Fantasy’, reinforcing her skill for crafting anthemic techno compositions. Victor Ruiz & Thomas Schumacher link and the result is ‘Intuit’, a sleek futuristic roller that hits you square between the eyes. Other highlights come from longtime Drumcode cohorts Reset Robot and Harvey McKay, who both dish up premium works, reinforcing their classy productions nous.

Mister Olivier Giacomotto has marked his debut on Eleatics with his 'Dance Alone' remix, which has become one of the most recognizable tracks from our catalogue last year.
There is enough information so far about Olivier - in-demand producer and remixer, who has been keeping his sound fresh and actual for more than 15 years with the releases on his own Definite Recordings, Noir Music, Stil Vor Talent and Senso Sounds as from the few to speak about.
This time we welcome French maestro for his debut full 'Barbak' EP on Eleatics.
The main title 'Barbak' track is neatly and masterfully produced unit, being explosive enough to be the epicentre of any set.
While hypnotic and melodic 'Kabrab' is embracing the best of what we like in the union of melodies and intense atmosphere of house & techno: sharply emerging leads alongside the mystic vocals and aggressive growling low sounds immediately gave that special feeling we wanted to share with you.

Commitment Issues (12th Mix) - The "12th Mix" is a sharp and clean, four-on-the-floor groover. It's in limbo between both Techno and Electro. It has elements of Electro with the funky basslined, wavy synths and early Juan Atkins-Cybotron influenced vocals. It also has a very stripped, and straight forward early Detroit techno feel to it.

Commitment Issues (Kickflip Mix) - The "Kickflip Mix" is a broken-beat Electro track that has a lurky, slick feel to it. It is 100% the same exact track as the 12th mix. The only difference is the kick rhythm adds for a nice touch of attitude.

Commitment Issues (Trovarsi Remix) - Trovarsi's interpretation of "Commitment Issues" is a very kittenish Jacking Techno track. The track toys with elements of past and present between the blots of acid, '90s chords/stabs and hip-moving tom grooves.
