Recién salida de dos grandes lanzamientos de debut en Second State y Odd Recordings durante los últimos dos meses, sin mencionar una increíble actuación en vivo de Castillo de Atienza junto a Ramiro Lopez y Lilly Palmer, la sensación del techno español de fama internacional Auriga continúa su carrera enormemente prolífica. Cerrando este verano de 2021 nos presenta su último gran EP, esta vez en  I AM Techno (IAMT).

El EP Underneath de Auriga, que se lanzará en todo el mundo el viernes 17 de septiembre a través del floreciente sello barcelonés de Spartaque, marca la incursión inaugural de la española en IAMT, ya que ofrece un inmenso paquete formado por 2 potentes tracks dignos de cualquier debut discográfico.

Arrancando el EP de una manera impresionante, Auriga bautiza el corte de doble cara con el inquebrantable abridor Suffocating. Un monstruo asustadizo de seis minutos, preparado para esas primeras horas del almacén que todos anhelamos en este momento, el palpitante lado A ve a Auriga construir una variedad implacable de líneas de bajo ondulantes, punzadas de sirena penetrantes, gotas de voz trippy y ritmos frenéticos, para abrir. el paquete con estilo.

Por otro lado, Auriga ofrece su segundo y último original titulado Underneath. Una producción contundente y posiblemente la interpretación más intrincada del EP, la impresionante diversidad de Auriga como productora continúa brillando, ya que se suma a la floreciente discografía de su carrera con otra enorme arma lista para la pista de baile.

Following the warm reception of “Change, Release, Rift” on Observant, Other Form returns to his own label for Unknown Movements’ final release of 2021 and is joined by the talents of Quelza (Mord, Hayes, Newrhythmic, KSR) and Polygonia (Lowless, PhonoTropismi, Bahn, IO) on remix duties, with Temudo (Klockworks, Warm Up, Hayes, Soma) in the mastering seat.

Opener “Public Layer” brings the combination of ’floor-ready urgency and cavernous sound design that Other Form is becoming known for before the pace is changed radically for “Protista”: a slow and sticky descent into murky waters reminiscent of latter-day Regis. “Mirrorpath” then forks yet again, with its caustic snares and sub-lines paying homage to the producer’s home of Bristol.

The two remixes of “Mirrorpath” take the track in wildly different directions, both barely related to the original, and pull it off the ledge into more experimental underworlds. Quelza’s interpretation opts for a textural rhythmic frenzy, full of tension; Polygonia’s opens a tunnel of swirls, throbs, wobbles, and disembodied vocal samples.

Listen to the premiere of the high-energy acid-infused track "For the Love of the Bassline" from techno veteran Marco Bailey off his upcoming album Surreal Stage, out December 10, 2021 on MATERIA.

Having stood the test of time with a high-quality output and by not simply following hype and trends, Marco Bailey continues to forge his own path through the electronic music scene. A producer with a dynamic understanding of music that has helped him not only to survive, but to thrive. With a beginning in the late 80’s as part of the vanguard of the electronic music scene, Marco’s eclectic sets promised everything from old school hip hop and even punk music and never failed to deliver. 

All of this has slowly evolved over time into a passion for the purest form of techno possible. With a sharp knowledge of how to build euphoria on the dance floor through a few well placed elements, Marco strives for the greatest physical and emotional impact from his sets. 

Being a fixture of the scene for so long has given Marco the ability to forge true collaborators and professional friendships with artists such as Speedy J and Steve Rachmad. The combined strength of these talented individuals has led to his formation of several labels with his most recent project MATERIA Music, founded in 2015. His similarly named event series, MATERIA, has also been a worldwide cutting-edge summit for advanced techno artists.

Following his last album in 2017, also with the Belgium label MATERIA, Surreal Stage is Marco Bailey’s sixth full-length release. Marco has a release history stretching back to the mid-90s with iconic releases on Bonzai and Dance Opera. This lineage is critical to the music on display here and can be felt in the foundation of all fifteen tracks.

A key resident at the legendary Club Rioma in Mexico, Gog is a DJ and producer who sculpts many different styles of house and techno and does so for outlets like Motek, Wild Wolves On Acid and InfraDig records. He has also been behind the Louder Music label since 2012 and can do everything from deep and considered warm up sets and sounds to pumping and peak time tackle. Starting out in 1998 he became well known in Mexico and is now a rising name on the world scene
