Hot Creations call upon VIVa boss Steve Lawler for their next release, rounding 2014 off with a bang - an amazing year for the leading label. With such a widespread knowledge of music and the industry, here Lawler gives us a musical education. ‘House Record’ is a dose of old school 80s house injected with a modern twist with ‘City Nights’ following suit on the B-side. There is no doubt both tracks will dominate the dance floor at peak time, capturing each heart with their infectious bouncing bass-lines, pacey percussions and all round feel good energy. This is proving to be a huge release for Hot Creations and Steve, featuring heavily in Jamie, Richy, Lee and Steve’s set’s… this is seriously HOT!

Steve’s music can be found on highly respected labels such as R&S Record, Drumcode, Cocoon, OVUM, Rekids, Soma, and of course his own imprint VIVa MUSiC. He also has a huge release dropping on Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It at the end of this year. Remixes of high proﬁle artists such as Jamelia, Dido and Justin Timberlake can also be found. Head of the respected VIVa MUSiC, Lawler founded the label in 2006 and has featured artists such as Reboot, Jamie Jones, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Bushwacka, Plasmik, Ripperton, Peace Division, Tiefschwarz and many more.

Making their anticipated return on the Los Angeles-based Superfreq imprint, Jonra & e:machinery have turned in one helluva mind trip via their Medicine Man EP release. Filling out the darker and headier areas of dance music, the production pair powers through a brain-blistering, five-track package that carries cerebral software and analog framework of the highest degree. Pulling most of the weight of this release is the title cut, which sees the duo construct an aural maze that’s carefully strung together from bits of psychic spoken word, cinematic pads, driving basslines and spacey synth structures. Jonra & e:machinery take things to the next level with this introspective, cosmically in-tune techno track. Spoiler alert: It’s a keeper.
