The energetic Brazilian duo TouchTalk (@touchtalk) makes their debut on the ZEF Music (@zefclub) with 3 original tracks where they show all their talent when it comes to refreshing the 80s sounds and adapting them to the new techniques of current club music.  The Place gives the ep its name and begins to show us what this is going to be about, explosive music to shake up a dance floor. The classic drums of the era and the bass line provide the solid foundation for elegantly pitched synths, mysterious electric guitars and piercing leads to lift the energy and bring us to the climax, all this happening while a vocal that seems to be inside our mind suggests "liberation".  In Two Pole, an atmosphere of expectation stands out, excellent for starting a set or generating a transition, carefully sequenced drums, powerful strings and synths that rise to the sky and descend to the ground while a resonant bass runs the entire spectrum and gives that delicious acid touch that we like so much.  Finally in EyEy the star is the vigorous bass line that marks the restless pulse of the track, the toms fills in and out playing with the sharp synths that paint the rest of the scene while they are squeezed until they get all the potential of those juicy filters. Madrid-based producer Bawrut is back on Ransom Note with his '4x4' EP consisting of four leftfield bangers, including the peak-time techno cut 'Three Sounds' that delivers pure dancefloor euphoria.

A regular player on the Ransom Note imprint, Bawrut has emerged in recent years with widely discussed sets at Sonar and Farr festivals, as well as having his music soundtrack numerous adverts for Fabric events. Here he showcases even more of his musical persona with four tracks that tear down genre-barriers to reveal a uniquely creative output.

Premiere: Bawrut 'Three Sounds'

Created by the Mexican duo BadWolf & Sergio Ruiz, “Hipnótico” is an obscure and slow theme focused mainly on bringing seamlessly together Techno and Dark Disco elements. According to the lads themselves, the track was made on a grey and cloudy day, which may have helped it comes out with gloomy nuances and hypnotic atmospheres. Filled with lyrics inspired by human choices how the past always impacts the future and how that leads us to make decisions based on all the things we live every day, “Hipnótico” is a perfect tune to be used in that part of a DJ set in which you intend to keep the crowd hooked to the kind of trip only electronic music can provide.

In their first work together, BadWolf & Sergio Ruiz demonstrate a promising affinity, exploring their multiple influences and applying refined producing techniques in order to create something that brings exactly what we expect from the new generation of artists: freshness and innovation. The bouncing bassline, the ethereal pads and the aforementioned lyrics are the strongest elements of this piquant track.

With this EP, NUFF MUSIC reaches its fourth release. Everything they have published so far has grabbed our attention, and we are very glad for premiering something from this vital Mexican label on our platform.

Meet O.N.O: the new Parisian electronic duo.
Comprised of French comedian and DJ, Nathalie Duchene, and her friend Rudy Kobain, O.N.O is a project formed through their connection on the Paris electronic scene. They decided to try their hand at collaborating, and ‘Modern Dance’ is the first fruits of their burgeoning relationship.
“ I produce a lot everyday but I hardly ever finish my tracks ” says Kobain. “ I sent Nathalie my favourite one and she had wonderful ideas on how to continue this one and finish it. ” They completed the track at his home, and once he showed her more of his works-in-progress, she had plenty more ideas on how to carry them to the finish line. “ The same magic happened: she knew what to add to make it a hit.” It was clear that a formidable partnership was being created.
‘Modern Dance’ is a funk-fuelled house/disco cut filled with bold sounds. Slinky, plump bass grooves against the taut drums while pitch-bending synths create a dramatic backdrop. A shimmering, plucked lead motif cuts through the mix with no warning to create a mystical and captivating melodic focal point. Recordings of gossiping ladies fill the breakdown, adding more drama still, and swooping strings provide the finishing touch. Fierce, funky and full of attitude, it’s a surefire hit. “ It’s a perfect track to show our world. We wanted to create a track you can dance, eat, drink and make love to. ”
French dance music royalty and personal friend of the duo, Yuksek, amps up the bass funk on his remix, slides in some gentle acid tones and generally pumps the whole thing up. There’s an almost old skool rave euphoria in the widescreen sounds of his pads and strings and some clever edits and FX provide moments of unexpected juxtaposition. “ Nathalie has known him for years and he was immediately super excited to remix the track. He totally brings the tracks to the dancefloor!”
‘Rockarz’ is a mighty ‘b-side’ that channels ‘80s electro pop to great effect, with chanted male vocals set against airy female harmonies and rubbery bass melody underneath. Glass chimes and resampled synths provide the additional colour, and all in all it’s a camp dancefloor workout.
With their tracks mixed by Super Discount’s Julien Delfaut, their glorious tracks are finished off in a punchy technicolour sheen. “ I have known him for a long time and he is one of the best mixers in Paris. Thanks to him we have a special sound that you can find all over our upcoming EPs.”
