"Cargo Cult" EP is not just a collection of songs. This study of human tendency to create illusory systems of faith and rituals in pursuit of unattainable or false ideals, criticism of the consumer society and blind, as well as deep immersion in personal existential dead ends and disappointments. This is a powerful conceptual frame for creating a memorable, thinking and emotionally charged musical work; created, produced and mixed by mandruvá & Ruksby.

External imitation without understanding the essence, blind faith in the ritual as a means of achieving the desired, the gap between action and the real result, the creation of illusory systems to obtain an unattainable good. The combination of "primitive", acoustic, ethnic sounds (drums, percussion, folklore motifs) with cold, mechanistic electronics, industrial, noise. 

This reflects a mixture of traditional and modern, ritual and technology. Repeating rhythms, mantras, looped samples, increasing tension - creating a sensation of the transient state of the participants in the cult.

To wrap up this EP, we’re thrilled to have three outstanding producers on board once again: Mverto Futura from Guatemala, along with TKUZ and Leonor from Mexico — each delivering their own distinctive soundscapes to shape “Cargo Cult”

Nacido y criado en Roma, Italia y ahora viviendo en Berlín, Alessandro Adriani es el cerebro detrás de Mannequin Records, un medio que desde 2008 ha hecho más que cualquier otro para desenterrar el oscuro synth wave y la música industrial de todo el mundo.

Además de su trabajo en el lanzamiento de gemas olvidadas y encantamientos de sintetizador de última hora, Alessandro Adriani también ha estado emitiendo en silencio su propia música para sellos como Mannequin, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Pinkman y Jealous God. Knife presents Alessandro Adriani, head of Mannequin Records and the resident dj and curator of the bi-monthly Mannequin Records Nacht at Panorama Bar/Berghain.

Born and raised in Roma, Italy and now living in Berlin, Alessandro Adriani is the brain behind Mannequin Records, an outlet that since 2008 has done arguably more than any other to unearth obscure synth wave and industrial music from all over the world.

Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Alessandro Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music for labels like Mannequin, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Pinkman and Jealous God. After a year of silence, Accents Records (^^^) returns with a new series called ACCENTVINYL. Releasing music on vinyl has always been a fundamental objective of the label. The first volume highlights key members of the catalog as well as a label newcomer, well-known in the european techno scene.

ACCENTVINYL001 - Various Artists 004 presents the music of the analogic bohemian GËINST (ARTS), the deep forest priestess HYDRANGEA (Semantica / Silent Season), the unmissable Napolitan Chef PRG/M (Midgar / Concrete) who recently launched r²π  (Camera Magmatica) with veterans Retina.it as well as SUB ACCENT (KIKIMORA Tapes / NOORDEN), the label founder.

The opening track is a crystal-clear piece of timeless techno, both aquatic and ethereal. "Mistral" reflects all the refinement of this promising producer’s universe.

The second track "Ritual Gift", attracts you into a hypnotic and electric carousel, bringing together the different influences (raw, deep, trance) of the producer.

Hydrangea digs the groove with "Guangzhou", a perfect blend between progressive, acid and ambient techno. A secret shuttle to distant imaginary lands.

PRG/M concludes the opus with Plumbeo, a track absolutely dedicated to the dancefloor. A powerful and sober, mental and minimalist weapon that will immerse you in an almost tachycardic state.

Crescent London is a new deep & hypnotic techno label centred on ambient textures and dub elements. For the label launch, the London-based collective put together a 13 track 'Various Artists' compilation of some of their favourite producers. Named "Magnetic Fields", the V/A is focusing on electric atmospheres and textures, locking the listener deep in the groove and the hypnosis. From drone and euphoric atmospheres to detailed broken-techno, the compilation displays a textured view on contemporary techno, elegant and mental, yet ready for the clubs to re-open.
