Founded in 1983, SFJAZZ presents the greatest names in jazz, Latin and global music and nurtures the art of improvisation through its year-round concert, commissioning and education programs. The West Coast’s biggest jazz presenter serves over 200,000 fans and students every year and has several award-winning resident jazz ensembles, the world renowned SFJAZZ Collective and the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars.

After 30 years of using rented halls, SFJAZZ finally has a home in the vibrant performing arts district of San Francisco. The luminous new SFJAZZ Center opened in January of 2013 and is the only stand-alone facility built specifically for jazz in the United States. Designed by San Francisco architect Mark Cavagnero, the LEED Gold certified center offers the superb acoustics of a great concert hall and the relaxed intimacy of a jazz club.

Remember when going out used to be fun? Do you prefer dancing to posing? Does your idea of dressing to impress have nothing to do with designer labels and everything to do with finding a gorilla costume in the perfect shade of purple? Bored of identikit ‘edgy’ nights called Fraktion, Elastik, and other ironically misspelled words? Well despair no more because THE HONG KONG PING PONG CLUB is here to restore your faith in the weekends!

During the late 00’s in the farthest flung reaches of the South West a group of friends were brought together by a mutual love of good music. With roots in Funk, Hip Hop, Big Beat and Breaks they had a no holds barred attitude
to their tune selection, playing a multi genre smorgasbord each bringing their own flavour to the mix.

Refusing to be pigeonholed and taking inspiration from nights like ‘The Heavenly Social’ and ‘The Big Beat Boutique’ ‘The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club’ was conceived. They rapidly gained a loyal party loving following at their spiritual home and residency ‘The Watermans’ in Falmouth and were soon playing host to the great and good within the scene.

Thrusting themselves in to the limelight with the infamous ‘Mixtape’ series the next logical step was to take the show on the road and bookings for booths in clubs and stages in fields quickly followed.

They have become a main stay at Shindig Festival, Shambala, Leopallooza and The Great Estate and have recently started to once again promote their own night’s back in Falmouth at The Underland Bar.

They love The Hong Kong Ping Pong Club and if you are inclined to dance like a drunken-hands-in-the-air Viking to bootie shakingly good music you’ll like it too!

South Africa has embraced Andy's deep house sounds, and because of his popularity over there, and albums released via EMI, SONY, WEA, and now Universal. He has done over 20 South African tours in the past 10 years.
Since discovering house music in the early ‘90s Compton has released a dazzling array of music and worked with an army of artists. He’s been featured on the cover of the seminal DJ Magazine and had his music used in TV show Six Feet Under, while tunes like “Sweeter Sounds” have become bona fide anthems at spots like NY’s Shelter. He has worked with top class vocalists Celestine, Marie Tweek, Diviniti, Kafele, Rowan, Ladybird, Sabrina Chyld and many others!
Compton's Dj skills have turned heads and twisted bodies worldwide, with his thumping brew of electronic beats swathed in coolly-crafted melodies, with Peng becoming one of the premiere labels on the planet, garnering support from house big-hitters like Louie Vega, Larry Heard, Mark Farina and Osunlade (to name a few).
All this has solidified Compton’s reputation as one of the most respected house music players on the planet.
