This fantasy piece was finished on 14th of June, 2015. It is the longest piece I have composed up to this point, and also, it is the piece whose composing took me the most of all, having started to compose this in January 2015.

After you will listen, you will probably wonder about the title, so, to avoid you being confused, I'll try to explain it a little bit. Solitude, despite having a somewhat sad and generally bad connotation, is, for some people, a good thing; being alone, just by yourself. Best example is, introverted people. Also, "Constantly being 'on' doesn't give your brain a chance to rest and replenish itself. Being by yourself with no distractions gives you the chance to clear your mind, focus, and think more clearly." And that could say it all about the main reason I chose "Solitude" as title for the piece.

Pandora

The Last Angel

This is a short track I did for the Composer Club challenge. The premise is listed below, but when I look at the picture I just see an astronaut enjoying the view! So I went for a panoramic and majestic approach.

"My Ship crash landed on this god forsaken rock over a week ago, there are no signs of life... Am I, the only soul on this planet?"

After crash landing on an unknown Planet, one man emerges from the wreckage and stumbles to his feet with minor injuries. After a week of survival, he realises he may be alone on a desolate, although there is possibility he is not...

In this situation, would you become the explorer, searching the undiscovered sands of time, surviving alone but in hope of finding something... Maybe a civilization, or the ruins of ancient beings?

Or would you panic, living in fear of the unknown, not knowing if there are others out there watching you in the dark, or fearing that you are literally the only soul alive on a ginormous alien planet...

There are many emotions and feelings that being alone on an alien planet could inspire. The challenge is to compose a song for this situation, and how you would survive. Courage. Fear. Embrace. The choice is yours...."

Spaceman

This is not really a finished track as such, it's just a short musical sketch. It is for a challenge in a Facebook group called Composer Club, where four musical dice are rolled, displaying four random chords : C#, E, G and D#. We have to come up with a piece of music only using those four chords. It's a great exercise to get us out of our comfort zone, and to stop us slipping into the same old tried and tested transitions.

The core ideas in this piece are militarism and tragedy. If you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist/FMA Brotherhood, the story here will shape up fairly clearly in your mind. This track has been circulating for a while now since I saw the show a few years back, and I thought I'd finally wrap it up. 

Among other things, I'm hoping this track will make for a continuation of fairly consistent uploads. I'm aiming for new music every 2-3 weeks on Fridays. It's going to be hard to keep up, but I'll try. Thanks for listening!
