[Melodic & Progressive Techno] TRAUMWELT -  DREAMCAST 005

After getting to know each other on SoundCloud in 2013, Florian and Benoit today work in tandem to bring dreamy electronic music into the air with a narrative mix of both, deep and thriving elements. Under his Bigasti alias, Benoit released on imprints such as Steyoyoke, Lost Diaries or Einmusik and quickly got recognition in the scene thanks to his unique melancholic approach in electronic music. Floloco, Florian's DJ project, sticks less strict to only one electronic music genre. The theme that unites his sets or mixes, is that particular "Floloco" groove. After years of experience in electronic music as individual artists, Gimérique unites the signature sound of the two electronic music enthusiasts to a new chapter on their promising path in the electronic music scene.

It all started with a joint DJ set released on the globally respected Schirmchendrink mix show, which the two founded together in 2015. After several joint DJ sessions they felt it was about time to take the project to the next level: et voilà, Gimérique was born!

With their first collaborative production in 2020, Gimérique took Lerr's 'Hummingbird' into deep and dreamy territory. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it made an auspicious production debut for Gimerique on Sound Avenue's first edition of their 'Re:Imagined' remix series.

Gimérique's first original production, 'Calm at Heart', was released in Spring 2020 on Harabe Recordings and explores a more ambient landscape of their sound. 'Calm at Heart" entered the Beatport 'Organic House' Top 100 charts only one day after its release.

Full of ideas and inspiration, the diligent two holed themselves in the studio during the pandemic to start working on various ideas that have been brewing over the last years. It will be with sheer excitement that the two will finally be able to announce their upcoming projects, and it will be soon.

Florian and Benoit individually, are passionate about electronic music ever since they can remember. Together, they are Gimérique. Enjoy the ride!!

Volume 25 is a tribute to a lovely and sweet vixen called Francesca aka Franny Fox.
Franny is a pet fox surrendered to Saveafox Corp and who found her forever home at Fox Tales, a sanctuary for foxes based in Florida which was built by a passionate and amazing family. 
Franny is the best friend of little Winter, a vixen you met in my main page few months ago.
Franny is one of the best ambassador for foxes and her adventures at Fox Tales are followed from all over the world.
For this beautiful soul, i've made a deep and sweet set which i hope you enjoy.

This week we have an exclusive set from an Ottawa veteran of the electronic music scene. @dj-joe-rowe has performed at some of the top venues and events in the world, including several gigs at Guvernment, Circa, Trinity Rooms (Ireland), Revolution (New York City), the World Electronic Music Festival and even the Grand Oasis in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

These days Joe has been busy in the studio focused on deep house, melodic techno and tech house. Having recently signed new music to both @48records and @mk837records, since 2019 Joe has had 9 studio releases, including a Beatport Top 10 release, 2 Beatport Hype Top 100 placements, and an editors’ pick. Joe's latest release "The Pursuit of Loneliness" has support from some of the biggest tastemakers in the scene including none other than Judge Jules!

While his taste in music has evolved over time, Joe is proud of his roots, which go back to the underground rave days of the early 2000s. Signed to UK’s Hardstyle Records, Joe's first collaboration "Ridin' Dirty" alongside Khalid S is now featured on "The Best of Hardstyle & Jumpstyle Vol. 2" by Trance Gold Records. Known for his tight mixing skills and energy behind the decks, this 2-time DJ comp winner has been rocking dance floors for years with a career spanning over 300 gigs in 6 countries and counting!

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.
