Our guest this week is one of the fixtures of the progressive scene in his country, Uruguay. 

Raised in a house with a dad who listened to Pink Floyd, Supertramp, folk music, and a mom that listened to Bee Gees, Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer, Sebastian Campo was able to develop love for energetic and progressive music.

Around 2001 he discovered trance and house music on some GateCrasher, D-mode cd compilations. Producers such as Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten (System F back then), Mauro Picotto, P.U.S.H were part of his beginnings. Throughout the years he was able to learn and discover other genres such as melodic & deep house, progressive house and techno.

Nowadays his tracks go from Organic, Deep to Progressive with breaks and melodies all over the place, having the likes of Joseph Capriatti, Paul (AR), RIGOONI, Fernando Ferreyra, d-phrag, Ziger, Savvas, Federico Monachesi, K Loveski among other producers.

Sebastian has played as guest several podcasts such, Movement Live show done by @soulmatestudio-academy, @deephousesweden , PHA, @deephousemelodic, Naturis Podcast from Canada, Amitabha Sessions, The Sound of Sirin and more!

His monthly podcast, Progressive Sounds, comes out every first Sunday of the month on Soundcloud and live on @saturosounds which has had amazing artists such as Wassu, I.D Jay, Nicolas Soria, Ben Pierre, Lila Rose (UY) to name a few.

Living in the moment where the last embers of daylight fade beyond the horizon.  A tapestry of vibrant colours streak across the sky before the impending onset of darkness.  The space between day and night, where the structure and security of the sun gives way to a different energy, one that pulsates with an almost rhythmic, hypnotic calling.  The anticipation for what awaits is, almost palpable.

It's an experience as music enthusiasts we have all shared in some form or another, together, unconsciously.  We must make sure we, as a collective continue to collaborate, discuss and celebrate everything that music brings into our lives.

Hailing from Northern Ireland, Willy is a passionate lover of progressive house, known for his deep, melodic, and emotive soundscapes. Resident at Organic Deep House Radio, Encyclopedia Radio and Decked Out Derry. Willy consistently delivers cutting-edge sounds that resonate with progressive house enthusiasts. Willy is also a member of House Music Collective, Sebastian Markiewicz's Compatible Music and a regular on Midnight Express FM

ABOUT OTTAWA PROG VIBES

Alain M.'s weekly podcast, Ottawa Prog Vibes, is now in its 7th year and is a recognized presence among Canadian Electronica shows. The show has two goals: showcase progressive DJ's from Ottawa (and Canada) to a global audience, and bring international DJ guests to an Ottawa (and Canadian) audience). 

Alain plays three out of every 10 shows. His mixing has been noted as particularly creative and smooth, a skill that allow his sets to be experienced as seamless stories.

An offshoot series, called Mellow Prog Vibes, is released every two weeks and focuses on more chill vibes, slightly more downtempo, to create a more relaxed vibe. It is curated by OPV resident DJ Boraa, who plays every other episode, with guest DJs playing the alternate.

Ottawa Prog Vibes and Mellow Prog Vibes are broadcast weekly on UK's Saturo Radio, New York's Chill Lover Radio and Ottawa's Blast the Radio.


ABOUT ALAIN M.

Alain M. started dj’ing in his early 20s and played a variety of clubs, big and small, in Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston. From teenage influences in progressive rock, metal and blues, and later New York and Chicago house, Dutch techno and early trance, his style has evolved towards the more melodic, infectiously rhythmic and thoughtful sounds of progressive house, with a particular fondness for Argentinian productions.

Over his 30+ years as a DJ, Alain has cultivated a signature melodic, danceable, and thoughtful style with enough surprises to keep even the most devout listeners on their toes. His live events, organized only a few times annually, are a hypotonic, transformational experience for attendees, putting the Nation’s Capital on the map for electronic music. He has organized and collaborated in a number of events including Levitar, Sunday Meet & Beat, Sit-Down Sessions, Shake my Thursday and Expeditions, attracting a thoughtful crowd who stay mesmerized by his melodic, danceable sets, always peppered with delightfully unexpected sonic elements.

Alain M. is also a guest DJ submitting regular sets to several radio and online outlets. He is a resident on X-Beat Radio (France, Belgium). He was a monthly resident on Abyss Sound Experience on QuestLondon Radio in 2021 and on UK-based Beach Radio between 2021 and 2024.

He has appeared as a guest on a number of shows in several countries including the UK, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Brazil, Sri Lanka, Peru, Turkey, Israel and the US. In Canada, he has been featured as a guest DJ at several events by Ottawa-based Music.Art.Ppl, on CHUO FM’s Vanguard Pulse Radio, on CKCU FM’s Lost In Bass and Mapped Out Radio, on Montreal’s Afterhour radio show and on Toronto’s ION radio show.

Alex Efe is a Uruguayan DJ and music producer based in Montevideo, passionate and dedicated to the constant progress and evolution of electronic music, focusing on the House genre and its variations.

Deeply influenced by Global Underground through the work of renowned artists such as Sasha, Nick Warren, and Digweed, among others, his innate curiosity and restlessness as a self-taught musician—always exploring new formats, sounds, textures, and musical techniques—has led him throughout his life on a personal journey of self-discovery, healing, and evolution.

His music has received support from various artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Weird Sounding Dude, Simply City, Marcelo Vasami, DJ Rudy, Cream, Mayro, and Ricky Ryan. He has released tracks on labels including Electronic Groove Records, Lake Underground, Starlight Group, Future Avenue, AH Digital, and OneDotSixTwo. This has driven his regional expansion with performances in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Brazil—one of his main goals being to share his musical expression worldwide.

Since 2011, he has led the Clubbing Mvd project alongside Diego Berrondo as well as Progressive House Uruguay, organizing events in his home country while promoting and inspiring new talent.
