Franc Spangler is back with three brand new cuts to form the Painted Lady EP. Spangler, also known as Jamie Odell also known as Jimpster returns to Delusions Of Grandeur following something of a hiatus since his 2010 EP Forever And A Day. Not that there hasn't been demand (following his brilliant remix of Norm De Plume for vinyl only label Kolour Limited) but with a busy gig schedule and two labels to keep on top of, the Spangler moniker has always been seen as a bit of a special side project where quality presides over quantity.

Title track Painted Lady kicks things off in ﬁne style with warm, deep house being the order of the day. Franc gets just enough dust in amongst the layering keyboards and echoing stabs to keep things the right side of smooth, the overall vibe is rolling with subtle FX and sounds poking through every now and then bringing a new element to latch onto.

Up next we have Lumpsucker, which brings us a lovely, blissed out, slice of electronica underpinned by classic TR707 beats adding just the right amount of jack to the track. We're getting hints of YMO and Balil with a lingering note of Larry Heard on the ﬁnish.

Finally, we're treated to the epic closer that is Camberwell Beauty. Mid tempo boogie beats with crunchy claps and steady hats lay the bedrock for a loping CS5 bassline whilst lush keys shimmer and swirl like little ﬂuffy clouds in a bright summer's sky.

Futureboogie open their 2015 account with this killer slab of sophisticated twisted disco from Lonely Boy, AKA Joshua Heath.  The Californian producer has a track record for finely crafted house music on labels like Miguel Migs’ Salted Music and the Inland Knights’ Drop Music.  His Lonely Boy moniker has yielded music for Culprit and Winding Road, and this FBR release comes backed with an epic remix from The Emperor Machine.

An ode to a love affair with the original vintage disco sounds, with its sophisticated bass and clean drums echoing shades of classic Prelude tunes of yesteryear, ‘I Like Disco’ is a spot on nod to the authentic sound that seemingly will never be out of fashion.  Its simple male rephrase reminds us just what we’re dealing with here, as the soft keys play call and response with that funky bass riff, and thick, rising pads create the drama.

The Emperor Machine rocks up on the remix, fresh from a period of intense activity, including albums for Southern Fired and the now defunct D.C. Recordings.  The former Bizarre Inc. and Chicken Lips has also been busy remixing the likes of Booka Shade, Erol Alkan and Daft Punk, so a real scoop to get him on Futureboogie.

Weighing in at over 10 minutes, the good Emperor builds a dub-tastic version, stretching out the good groove and bringing it back to the basics.  A playful remix with brain scrambling metallic flanging, stuttering bass, electro-funk synths and heaps of dubby delays, a monster of a remix!

‘The Subtle Frenzy’ continues the quality vibes with an arpeggio synth that works it way around your brain and moody pads and wonky keys that build the atmosphere a treat.  A monster electro-funk workout with a heavyweight growling bassline that continually pushes the track into a ‘subtle frenzy’.

Digital bonus track, ‘Take Your Time’ slows down the pace with an orgy of synthesizers and chugging beats, a perfect wind down/sunset/sunrise (circle where appropriate) moment!   A class cut that shows the versatility of Lonely Boy’s productions…

Everybody likes disco, but not as much as Lonley Boy. LA based Joshua Heath makes his debut on the label with a nod to his love of vintage disco grooves, putting together a finely crafted house cut that does the business but doesn't take itself too seriously. Dropping on 27th January via the Bristol based Futureboogie imprint, the release comes complete with a killer remix from The Emperor Machine and a B side that'll give this one a run for its money. Here's a groovy mix from Disco Knight's head honcho Anthony Mansfield. Disco Knights is one of the 'go-to' sound camps at Burning Man festival. Known for hosting world class DJs and outstanding locals in an intimate setting, 2015 will be Disco Knights 6th year on the playa and all signs point to some heavy dirt raving!

In his own words:

"Last year was my first year at The Garden and I was blown away by the beauty, production, intimacy and easy living. I wanted to do a mix that captured a bit of the family vibes of The Garden Festival. Hedonistic disco, cosmic house, throbbing bass lines and tunes you'd want to hear soaking your feet in the Mediterranean!

There were too many fantastic moments last year, but having Craig Richards drop Barfly's "Street Talk" (the first tune I ever put out with Ben Cook) at Barbarella's was disco glory!

After The Garden I'm looking forward to a visit to Italy and then coming home to get ready for Disco Knights at Burning Man."

"Known for his constant evolution in the studio and comprehensive performance style, Detroit Techno Militia's own Shawn Rudiman has never stopped honing his craft as a live techno producer. During the later part of January, Shawn Rudiman hit the road for two tour dates that were accompanied by extended DJ sets from Smart Bar resident and God Particle label owner, Sassmouth. The two Mid-West producers shared the stage in Chicago as part of a B2B session with Jeff Derringer at Oktave, and they performed in Los Angeles as part of a headlining show for the long-running warehouse techno party series Dirty Epic. Both of these events were met with incredible reviews, with Shawn being praised on his versatility with his machines."

Mix Number 12 in the Sinchi & Friends series is @gemini-brothers .  
The twins from Romania are hot property at the moment, having recently signed to Skint Records and also have one of the year's must have records soon to be released on vinyl, via NightNoise.  Furthermore they were  actually one of the first major names to support Sinchi and remixed our debut track Aether Drift. So we're delighted to feature our good friends and share a peach of a mix.

1) Introduce yourself?
We are Gemini Brothers, twin brothers, Bucharest based, music lovers and record collectors. We consider ourselves two fine gentlemen wearing scarves, hats and braces.

2) How would you describe your sound?
We never thought to have a wordy name for what we play or produce. Of course we have many influences, from psychedelic to acid or from nu-disco to industrial techno. Coming as well from this part of Europe, being an old Ottoman Empire Eyalet/ Pashalik there are still plenty of oriental influences from rhythmic drums and dulcimers or byzantine vocals around the tracks feelings. We don’t see it as going only in that direction, but there is a big plus having more influences than the western people, culturally speaking.  

OK, let’s call it ‘Geminilicious’!

3) What are your plans for 2016?
First of all, for this year is very important from our new productions but of course we don’t let gigs outside our plans, there are in our main focus as well and we may say there is a big difference since last years, especially during the summer time with important festivals appearances, like our forthcoming gig at ‘Thump’ Scene from Lovebox Festival in London or ADE in the autumn, plus more and more to be announced. 
All these years we were involved more in making remixes and less originals, but 2016 will be for sure a year of original releases! There are some coming up like with SKINT Records, an EP with three originals, featuring Grammy Award winner Shahin Badar (yes, you know her from the Prodigy’s ‘Smack My B*tch Up’ back vocal) and a remix by one of our musical heroes Mr. Justin Robertson! This EP will be out during summer period! 
Now we’ve just announced to launch a new vinyl EP release on our managers label Night Noise with a track called ‘Lost Babylon’ including remixes from the almighty In Flagranti, Moscoman and Daniel Kyo!
There will be at least two appearances in some really great compilations and there are some remixes in cue, so be ready to hear more from us!
