The Oblong Square is a unique esoteric symbol that represents the dual nature of humanity and the balance of opposing forces in nature.

We are an independent record label specializing in Lo-Fi, Downtempo, Trip-Hop, Chillwave, Ambient, Minimal-Tech, Deep House and Avant-Garde music. Our ethos prioritizes the artist, ensuring they retain complete ownership of their music, masters, image, content, and personal branding. Oblong Square provides artistic feedback and support, networking connections, promotion, production, and distribution, empowering artists to express themselves freely.

Drawing from all of his roots, Mystic Pete, a classically trained cellist linked to the California DJ and Sacred communities. He is a composer, singer, cellist, video and music producer, and sound meditation facilitator, who hosts a radio show in L.A., “In A Dream” on KXLU, that features the DJ community.

SURGE is a record label and party series, founded in 2019. Born out of an affinity for South American flavour and early 2000’s UK groove, the label is a hotbed for both emerging & established producers to showcase their sound. SURGE is an imprint built with the dancefloor in mind, putting out regular releases which create standout memories for our dancers.

Hailing from the city of Liverpool: known for it’s bold characters, cultural reverence and *slightly successful musicians, SURGE was created to stand out. Defined as ‘a sudden powerful movement,’ the name SURGE was chosen to reflect our ethos and goals.
