Cruisin’ features Ronny Smith not only playing guitar, but keyboards, bass, and programming as well. He utilizes other musicians on various selections and the result is a diverse but unified set of memorable melodies that serve as a perfect setting for his warm guitar. Trying out some new techniques and my newly acquired Chris Hein Orchestral Brass.  It sounded fairly pastoral, probably the English Horn, hence the image. 

I couldn't resist a bit of 'Zarathustra'-like timpani ;-)

I tried to seat the instruments in their usual orchestral placements too.

Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.

I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.
