This song began with JJ on a late Saturday night, coming up with it on the drums, bass, and organ. He even added some real triange, if you listen for it, you'll be delighted. He had a killer jazz groove on his mind when he composed it, and was able to really bring it to life on all levels. He originally wrote it as a solo piece, but asked Josh if he would like to add a guitar part. Josh jumped at the opportunity to play an original jazz song on his guitar, and in a few days, recorded more than 20 takes of it. He finally landed on the one you hear in here now. 

  They asked Stephen to mix, master, and produce it for them, which he did in his typically professional way.

  This was a fun, exciting collaboration, featuring just JJ and Josh, but the rest of the Eclectic Collective will be back with them next time. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

The trilogy was inspired by my martial art teacher, Patrick Nagle, who would repeat over and over, "Three P's": meaning, practice, patience and perseverance. Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.
My influences are many and I have quite probably been shaped by listening to the very many "giants" of music, both players and composers. From classical to contemporary jazz and everything in between. My main instrument is the keyboard, whether that be piano, organ or synth. But I also play banjo, flute and percussion. I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.
