H. P. McGowan is an award-winning composer and interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto. His music has been described by colleagues as ‘contemplative’, ‘expressive’, and ‘imaginative’, often bringing attention to sparseness, fragility, and environment. His concert music has been influenced by the aesthetics of the Wandelweiser Collective, the Cagean tradition, and the Canadian artist Jack Chambers.  His most recent music and research-creation projects involve just intonation, indeterminacy, and using methods of composing borrowed from early music.

H. P. earned a Master of Music in Composition degree from the University of Ottawa in 2021, during which time his research and creative activities were funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).

H. P. co-founded Ensemble Allure, an interprovincial new music ensemble with chapters in Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, and Toronto (ensembleallure.com).  He serves as a board member at Ottawa New Music Creators (onmc.info).

In addition to his activities as a concert music composer, H. P. has operated a successful music composition and sound design service for linear visual media under his legal name (www.haydenmcgowancomposer.com).

Coralus is a composer based in Berlin, germany. Open to any genre, he loves to experiment with any style of music in order to find new possibilities for his compositions.
