This mix was originally made to celebrate the reissues of De La’s back-cat, and broadcast on BBC 6 Music a month ahead of the March 3rd release date.

Just over a week after this mix was broadcast, Dave, aka Trugoy the Dove, aka Plug Two, tragically passed away. A few weeks before release. 

The first half of this is the original 40-minute version of the broadcast mix.
A 27-minute edit was broadcast Saturday 4th Feb 2023, for the Block Party mix on The Huey Show.

The second half is a bonus 40-minute selection of 15 more faves - tracks that I feel needed time to breath; some that felt a bit dark for Saturday morning radio, and a few where Dave’s bars hit a little more poignantly now. A bittersweet time. 

Recorded Saturday 4th March 2023, the day after De La day.

Nmesh is an electronic music project of a Kentucky-based artist Alex Koenig. Koenig's Nmesh project has a discography spanning back to 2001 in IDM-experimental genres, but in 2013 the artist began experimenting within the vaporwave genre with Nu.wav Hallucinations In addition to the critically acclaimed album Pharma in 2017

Celebrating the 50th birthday of the late great J Dilla, here's a 27-minute mix comprised of 50 of James Yancey's greatest hits, productions, features & samples.

This was broadcast on BBC 6 Music on Sat 10.2.24 as part of a series of shows dedicated to J Dilla. Huey Morgan's show included this mix & an interview with Illa J, Dilla's little brother, part of which is featured on the intro of this mix. Femi Koleoso (Ezra Collective) followed with an interview from Dilla Time author Dan Charnas, and Gilles Peterson interviewed Pete from BBE Music.

Back in 2010, Gilles Peterson recorded a special Brownswood Basement show focusing on the evolution of drum & bass through the 90s and into the 00s. It was by no means a comprehensive history of the genre, but it did represent an excellent snapshot of the tunes that struck a chord with Gilles back then. 100% vinyl (and acetates), Gilles spent the best part of a day rummaging through hundreds of records and picked out around 40 of his favourite tracks from the likes of Alex Reece, Peshay, Goldie, Drumagick, Roni Size and Photek… then @alex-patchwork got deep in the mix. Here then, is the first hour-long mix that made up that show - no links, jingles or drops - just the music. We hope you enjoy it.
