مسجد در جریان فرعی موسیقی ایران یک قطعه موفق و جان‌دار محسوب می‌شود. گروه مگو یک محتوای کهن که دستمایه غزلیاتی از مولانا هم بوده را در غالب موسیقی بلوزراک و به شکلی اعتراضی و امروزی ارائه کردند؛ این مهمترین ویژگی تک آهنگ مسجد است. فضاسازی جذاب، نوازندگی‌های یکدست که پالایش صوتی (میکس و مسترینگ) خوبی هم روی آن انجام شده است. خواننده لحن مناسبی را برای ارائه این شعر انتخاب کرده است و به درستی به اندازه‌ی این موسیقی اوج می‌گیرد و از اینکه حواس مخاطب را با خودنمایی به جای دیگری ببرد، پرهیز می‌کند. سولوی اول موجز و مناسب کلیت قطعه نواخته شده است اما سولوی انتهایی چندان پایان بدیعی برای قطعه محسوب نمی‌شود. به طور کلی چیزی که کمی به کار آسیب‌زده است، سنوریته قدیمی اثر است. در فرم و رویکرد نگاهی امروزین در جریان است ولی صدادهی، افکت‌ها و شخصیت سازها کمی قدیمی است. با این همه «مسجد» نمونه خوب و موفقی به خصوص از منظر تلفیق لیریکس و موسیقی است، نکته‌ مهمی که خلا آن ضعف بسیاری از آثار جریان فرعی است.
