I wanted to give you something tangible, solid poetry to hold.  Not to make it right, only to let you know.  You left me to tend to my heart, now it’s broken, I’ve fallen apart.  Missing you, kissing you, in my mind.  Dreaming of a love that died as I reach for the paper to dry my eyes.  I don’t remember the last time I felt this worthless.  It’s alright to be alone.  I can make it on my own.  Critical of this secret mess, can’t escape it nonetheless.  It stays with me like an ailment, clouding the visions in my head.  You waltzed in and out of my life, carving the pain in my heart with your knife.  Cutting me down to size and I’m bleeding out replies.  It’s alright to be alone.  I can make it on my own.

Stonerjazz, Uziel, and me have joined forces once again for another adventure in our fantastical concept album universe 'the land of Zed'! This time we are also joined by a new collaborator, Zed a.k.a. Francesca from Italy. It is just coincidence/synchronicity that her name is the same as the title of this series, but after crossing paths on soundcloud and listening to her music, we thought she would be a good fit!

The lyrics for this one pick up on a thread of the story that we left hanging at the end of episode 2, 'Johnny and the Holy Din' ... but there are call-backs to nearly all the other songs in the series too if you listen closely.

Lyrics:

Through some inexplicable and somewhat puzzling magical circummstance beyond understanding as we know it; an opening opened amongst the craigs and mists and the protruberances high in the mountains of southern Zed.. And out of the dank and dark and stink of the stank stepped a warrior so fine with a golden accordian that did shine like the sun.

And the musicians all trapped in the sky screamed and they cried for they had lost all their hope and their mojo was gone and they were prepared to die. They were prepared to die..

So Johnny sat down on the ledge in front of the cave so incredibly brave with legs dangling in space and began to play a tune so sweets that even the red parrots and monkeys started to cry, and Roy the despicable despot was Shaken to his shoes and said: 

"Hey Johnny, can you play me some Blues??"

All of Zed did head for the byways that led to the mountains that day.. The Azzure eyed twits and all of their brats, the crows in their leathers with beads in their feathers, the Rats in their custom made chevys from mars. Though sadly the Trout had to stay but needless to say, there was a grand party that day when twenty two hundred entered that cave with visions of home, songs in their brains, and hopes in their hearts...And No one suspected the Evil that lay deep in the guts of the southern mountains of Zed..

Icebergs, 10,000-year-old glacial giants
Snow white to deep aquamarine
Floating down the current to the warm gulf stream

Icebergs are edges of glaciers
Broken off and slipped into the ocean

As deep and as hidden as a secret me

Icebergs, frozen giants, compressed snow and water
Crevasses a deep blue
and volcanic eruptions encased in ice cold.

Meeting @fadysporz on Soundcloud back in 2018 felt like a meeting of soulmates. There is a mutual respect for each other’s work and i wrote the track with room for Fadys heavenly synth work in mind and also with the idea that he joins Cindy and me in the vocal work.
