After a year-long hiatus from the label, Anjunabeats luminary Grum returns with the ‘Isolation EP’. 

Graeme Shepherd, better known as Grum, hails from Glasgow. His relationship with Anjunabeats stretches back to 2015, when Above & Beyond signed him to the label over a glass of whisky one night after a gig. A string of brilliant singles followed: ‘U’, ‘Shout’, ‘Shining’ and ‘Price Of Love’ to name a few, plus his Anjunabeats Worldwide 07 compilation, which charted on Billboard’s Dance / Electronic Album chart. 

His long-awaited artist album ‘Deep State’ - released in November 2019 - was a triumph, cementing his place at the forefront of progressive trance. 

Featuring four new cinematic, beatless compositions, the ‘Isolation EP’ sees Grum journey into new territory.

“Over the past year I've spent an awful lot of time by myself. Once I'd fully understood what was happening, I realised I would now have a lot of time on my hands. On recommendation from Jordi van Achthoven (one half of Tinlicker), I turned to music as a form of therapy and escapism. With no clubs open for the foreseeable future, I started discovering and rediscovering music and genres that I hadn't listened to before, or hadn't listened to in years. I ended up really enjoying ambient, classical and film soundtrack music from the likes of Max Richter, Trent Reznor, Japan and M83. The result is the ‘Isolation EP’. As well as providing a bit of escapism for myself, I hope it will help transport you somewhere else for a small part of your day.” - Grum

In 2017, DJ Varsovie and Blind Delon had a dream…
They dream to create an ephemeral band and go on tour across south of France in order to play for the local bars, camping and « Fête de Village » (as we say in french).

Eté 97 was born…the dream became reality.

In June of this particularly intense year, they borrowed a Fiat Panda from a friend in Albi and hit the road !
From Bayonne to the french riviera, two months were needed to complete the tour, no villages were kept away from their intense rock performance, old people and youngsters were blown away everytime.
At the end of the trip, exhausted and full of memories, they decided to make one more stop in order to record three songs from their live act in Jean Michel Hauray’s studio based in Albi.
« Far Away » is what came out of this session and it will be released on vinyl and digital on the 9th of june with a killer electronic country remix from 303 master « Voiron ».

We hope that this record will make you feel the unique vibe of the « Eté 97 » summer tour, the lavender fields and the mountains, the thunder and the sunshine, the summer heat in Périgord and the far away whispers of the Mistral… this endless trip through french paradise like we were forever 18 in summer 97.
