In the early hours of Friday morning, from 7 to 9 am, I had the honour of gracing the stage of this iconic festival – a place that holds a special place in my heart since my first visit in 2001. Fusion has always been the epitome of what a festival should be, and being invited to play on the main stage was a dream coming true.

For this sunrise set, I didn't go straight for the heavy bangers. Instead, I carefully curated a selection of tracks that were meant to ignite that special colourful energy as the festival prepared to take it´s morning rest soon. This set is a mix of vinyl gems, with a few digital exclusives sprinkled in. This warmth and authenticity of vinyl mixing, especially that magical low end quality, on a sound system like Lambda Labs, takes precedence over the perfectly polished digital mixes.

I really hope you have a great time with this set, just like I did when I played it. Unfortunately, we hit some technical snags at the beginning, so that part got cut off...

Olivia Mendez is a vinyl-only DJ, selector, and curator whose sets weave deep, minimalistic techno. Her sound is rooted in rhythm—shaped by her early years as a percussionist and dancer, and refined through a deep immersion in London’s underground scene between 2006 and 2011.

A passionate digger with a background in music journalism and event curation, Olivia approaches her sets as narrative journeys—sonorous, layered, and emotionally resonant. From Brooklyn to Kiev, she’s queered consciousness through sound, creating dancefloors that pulse with tension, release, and intent.

She is the founder of KONVENT, a FLINTA collective dedicated to reshaping feminist discourse through site-specific music and art interventions, and launched her own label, Dust in Grooves. Alongside Chami, she co-runs DIG Curated, a cross-disciplinary platform spotlighting underground sound, visual art, and community-driven projects.

Now based in Berlin, Olivia continues to explore the intersections of activism, art, and sound—smashing the patriarchy, one beat at a time.

February's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Swedish techno icon Joel Mull. Joel is one of the main artists who pushed Stockholm's underground scene forward since the mid '90s. He is among the very few who believed that techno would be the music of tomorrow and he clearly proved that with his musical career over the last two decades releasing numerous albums and EPs with his percussive signature sound on labels like Harthouse, Truesoul, Parabel, Dystopian while showcasing his DJing skills at the biggest clubs all over the world. Today Joel is finishing his new album that will be soon released on the label A Strangely Isolated Place under his alias Damm. Scots born DJ/producer Andrew Moore started off his music career as a camera man and editor for Glasgow based online electronic music magazine eqtv.dj where he filmed and interviewed the best DJs and club nights in Glasgow and around the world. He then started his DJ career after moving to London and working in the city’s underground queer scene putting on his own events.

Since moving to Berlin his career has gone from strength to strength with gigs at renowned clubs Kantine am Berghain, Griessmuehle, OHM, RSO, Watergate, Æden, OXI, Club Ost, Hoppetosse, Fiese Remise, IPSE, Anomalie, Renate, House of Weekend, Corsica Studios to name a few and producing and releasing on various labels including BPitch Control and Scale Trax as well as his own show Keep it Hard on Keep it Radio!
