As we edge nearer to our 100th mix, we seek to Berlin for textural techno melodies from dutch producer and DJ Konduku aka Ruben Üvez. Having graced some of our favorite labels like Donato Dozzy's Spazio Disponibile, Nous'Klaer, Delsin, Midgar and more, Üvez has become a maestro in layering UK techno stylings with a European flavour, finding that perfect balance between space and drums. 
His wisdom in also finding tracks of this style have become an integral part of his DJ sets being incorporated beautifully to the point of losing yourself even in the more relentless parts. A journey to say the least that very few can put you on, displaying Üvez's approach that could be comparable to that of modern greats like Batu and Donato Dozzy. And that is what Konduku has done here on Phonica 99. Recorded live from a Midgar party in Berlin recently that transports you to that time and moment so alluringly, we have a chat to Üvez more about the concept and where his head was at during this set.

Marco Shuttle at Floresta - Waking Life '22

Clear as spring water, the memory of Shoal's beautiful live set echoing through the Norwegian mountains, finally sharing the stage together at Monument (@monument-podcast) after meeting in Amsterdam several years ago. Those familiar with our dear friends at Harmony Rec (@harmony-rec) will be undoubtedly familiar with Kenny's impeccable body of work, and for the rest an eye-opening treat awaits. Here, Kenny gathers highlights from his recent live sets and newly recorded material, arranged and refined into a perfect contemplation of the crisp arboreal air, a vivid composition of body and sound entwined tightly beneath the earth. For Patterns of Perception 112, we're very excited to welcome back @kondukukonduku - a truly stellar all-round talent and dear friend of our collective. 

Four whole years have passed since we last featured Konduku in our mix series. In this time, he has reached new creative heights, adding textures, shades and vibrancy to his distinctive sound - in the process finding homes for highly touted releases on the likes of @spaziodisponibile, Mantis (via @delsinrecords), @nousklaeraudio, @amenthia-recordings (with @aasudd) and most recently @djnobu_bitta's Bitta.

As a DJ, his creativity and skills are similarly vaunted, and see him regularly take the stage at key festivals, venues and events across Europe and Asia. 

Recorded live at Patterns of Perception @ OHM Berlin on Apr 21, 2023, Konduku's Patterns of Perception 112 is a showcase of his thrilling abilities behind the decks. Unpredictable yet totally engrossing, this set is a profound tale of tension and release. Tightly wound grooves and eerie psychedelia leading us unerringly to ecstasy. A fine balance of intuition, control and spirit from a visionary artist in full-flight.

With both her own productions and DJ sets, Laura BCR tends towards immersive, ambient techno terrains – which is exactly what she brings here, curating a blissed-out journey filled with cosmic and hazy sounds. 

In her own words, this is a “drum’n’dub-based atmospheric mix spanning genres between unreleased and fave tracks that I’m playing at the moment.” One to get lost in this summer’s afternoon.
