This EP was chosen from an incredible and diverse body of work that was created during the surreal year that was 2020. This type of music transcends, takes hold and transports......please give it your patience and attention.

HVL - Newenslo

Berlin-based electronic collective Patterns of Perception announces the launch of its record label, with the first release from Australian DJ and producer Nali. 

Formed in Berlin in 2016, Patterns of Perception is the coming together of six friends with one shared vision: to cultivate compelling, visionary electronic music. Starting with residencies at Berlin institutions OHM and ://about blank, the collective’s work has expanded to include a widely followed mix series and online magazine.

Nali’s sound has been honed through years of work as both a DJ and producer in his hometown of Melbourne, from which he has released on labels Steeplejack, Pure Space and B2H and performed at festivals including the illustrious Strawberry Fields, while also performing live alongside Peter van Hoesen at Pattern of Perception’s own party at OHM Berlin.

His Chance Encounters EP features spacious, intricate grooves that dance and parry with luxuriant synths and infectious, acid-tinged basslines. The release was mastered in Berlin by Patterns of Perception co-founder Andreas Maan, with artwork by fellow co-founder Ray Pham. A label launch party is slated for November 20 at ://about blank.

PTN01 will be available in record stores and digitally on November 15.

@adam-stromstedt is a Swedish producer, growing up in Stockholm, but currently residing in Sydney, Australia. He runs a label called @lyssna-records alongside fellow Swedish producer Flord King (lyssnarecords.bandcamp.com). They have such an awesome catalog of really tasteful & insanely groovy house on the deeper side. Adam has been running a regular radioshow in Sydney throughout the entire pandemic called @always-sometimes. He was nice enough to have me on the show twice for guestmixes & the show became my regular evening cooking / wind down soundtrack during the week for the last year or so. They just had their 50th & final Orbital Radio episode earlier this month (all episodes can be found here: soundcloud.com/always-sometimes). His music is incredibly meditative & groovy with so much thought & care put into sound choice, rhythm, witty vocal samples, etc. He has these extremely punchy, clean & crisp mixdowns that I've envied since first hearing his Redfern EP back in 2019. No stranger to Delayed after his sublime releases on Diffuse Reality and Secuencias Temporales, Chech artist Dominic Knap aka Kletis is back with eight cuts of texture-oriented and dreamy forest ambiance on the ‘Saudade LP’ released via French Accent Records.

Our premiere track, ‘Appetence,’ is a hypnotic draw through some bewitched foggy woodland. Casting spells with delicately paced natural affinity as if to get lost in the organic flow of aerial and aquatic pads. Before you know it, your breathing synchronized with the mysterious pulsation and its melodic melancholy enveloping the lavish, trippy dreams.  

‘Saudade LP’ is out on May 1st, 2022
