For over two decades, Taffi Louis has struggled to write a DJ bio that doesn’t sound like AI-generated slop.  In that time the role of DJ has mutated away from the music enthusiast/curator to influencer/marketer. Defying simple categorization, his sets blend dark disco, new wave, Italo, presented in the language of house and techno, steered into a fluid narrative.  An imaginary soundtrack for the movie version of right now..  

His first gig in a local gay bar unexpectedly kicked off a six-year residency introducing an audience nostalgic for disco & new wave to then-breaking nu-disco and electroclash, mingling James Murphy with Giorgio Moroder, Bobby O with Vitalic.  His niche alternative queer parties like UNCANNY and THICKSET applied the East Van DIY cheap ticket approach that led to TRUCKERDISCO, building its unique, diverse audience inclusive of all orientations and genders, and the retro-futurism of ROBOTERIA.  His era-jumping, propulsive DJ sets refuse to be reduced to any single genre or treat music as disposable, perfunctory filler.  

His edits receive worldwide support from DJs like The Hacker, Italo Brutalo, Local Suicide, & more.

Currently making music in San Diego, Californina.
