boxout.fm places some of the country’s most dedicated musical minds alongside DJs, selectors, commentators and cultural icons from all over the world.

Fully cognisant of a need to take more music to people, boxout.fm hosts weekly and monthly residencies at clubs and cultural spaces around the country. In addition, our own fanzine - ThePlug.News -  is currently distributed at 25 outlets across India and is our call-to-action.

Formed in 2018 by members Saurav, Ashrey, and Aditya, DEE EN captured the attention of Delhi’s indie music scene with their debut EP “Whoopsie Daisy,” a lush confluence of laid-back lo-fi and psychedelic dream pop. Featuring well-covered tracks like “Rolling the Groove,” and “Smooth as You Like,” this record saw DEE EN embrace their appetite for immersive, energetic performance.

Their next record “Poppin’” was not only dubbed an “essentially timeless” synth-laden album infused with 80s nostalgia but also featured exciting collaborations with multi-media artists that birthed DEE EN’s distinct visual personality. Whether in music videos or live shows, they used an evocative blend of synesthetic lighting and resonant tones to render a gestalt space—and then took it to stages across the country.

In 2019, their burgeoning live career and fresh releases were put on hold by the pandemic. Unwittingly caught in a crucible of isolation and introspection, they used this hiatus to focus on their artistry, stepping away from the showlight to re-enter the studio.

Their latest EP, “Saturn Return,” is the late harvest of seeds sown three years ago, featuring the infectious joy and ambient melancholy that marked their early work. However, seasoned with time and experience, this new sonic direction speaks to a more evolved and authentic self—formed of layers, contradictions, but also, warmth. It bears the fruit of bold collaborations and ever-daring experiments and does so with incredible, unapologetic confidence.

DEE EN’s discography has always rested at the interface between genres, art forms, themes, and eras. With this record, they turn these liminal interfaces into worlds, celestial and complete.
