so... as you can probably guess, my recordings span a time frame from the early 70's when i was writing heaps and jamming down the coast with my brother and several mates - to the present, where its not about my music but catching great performances from the many amazing artists i have the privilege of working with these days.
so its an eclectic mix of - me and my brother warrick's musical history and the stuff i've managed to catch from more recent times.

A wolf in wolves clothing.

A main stay of Adelaide’s underground punk and rock scenes for two-and-a-half decades.  

Featuring in a number of that City’s most loved and respected bands of this time, including ‘Meatbeaters’, ‘Perdition’, most recently ‘Cull - the Band’, and ‘The Gels’ from 1996 to 2010 and intermittently since.

Released debut “solo” CD album ‘The Baddest Man In Shit Town’ (2014), and ‘This Might Hurt A Bit: Live at Enigma Bar’ (2017), both as Ben Gel & the Boneyard Saints.

CD EP ‘Anarchy In TwentyTwenty’ released April 2020 and CD EP ‘Is That Sarcasm You Taste On My Breath?’ May 2021.

Digital singles Snap My Spine, Not Just Another Riot and Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance To The Radio all appeared in late 2022 at 5 week intervals.

Founder member of seminal Australia punk/postpunk groups JAB and Models 1976 - 1980.
Member of Melbourne recording group the Metronomes throughout eighties through to present day. Concurrent live performance 'musical chairs' group Modern Jazz throughout the eighties. Moved to digital sampling with Crashland 1988. Took elements of Crashland to Berlin where I was based fron 1992 from 1997 and at various times later. Became live performance member of Einstürzende Neubauten between 1997 and 2013. Created 'The Ash Wednesday Effect' 2013/14  Melbourne Australia. The (audio) tracks posted on this page are relatively recent solo compositions.
