the birds got a lot to say

i’ve always tried my best
to fit in with all the rest 
but not when it came to the feelings in my chest
always thought no one could ever love me
just too damaged at the seams
of what it meant to be a functional human being
i always told myself
that i would never let, never let my guard down
not gonna lie
i was doing pretty fine
but things are starting to change now
and ever since 
first saw what i 
thought was that innocent smile

you had just seen
someone important but you couldn’t point it out

to kids just too naive, full of innocence
my room’s dark now
