Blending in the classical side of his formative years with a cutting-edge approach to programming and live music, multi-faceted Berlin-based artist Hüseyin Evirgen alias Magna Pia has cut a lane thoroughly his own in the landscape of contemporary techno, and more generally the whole of electronic music. Constantly pushing back the boundaries between tried-and-tested patterns and groundbreaking incursions into uncharted instrumental territories, Evirgen serves up for us one of his distinctly deep-reaching sonic voyages, somewhere between high-intensity 4x4 wares, dub hypnosis and off-kilter divagations into the great unknown.

Monochrome presents, 𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖊𝖒𝖕𝖘 𝖑𝖑𝖑 : Atomic Moog, Lowless / Monument.

This spring, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Atomic Moog is a French duo formed in 2015 by two cousins Cédric André-Jean and Charles Lecca. Influenced by artists such as Plastikman, Daniel Avery, Acronym or Mike Parker and the prologue label, their productions are both cold and haunting, a perfect mix aimed at club culture and for a sophisticated audience.
Each of their productions is built around their machines, guiding them towards the creation of a sound ambiance, on which percussive and electric grooves are superposed. Adepts of improvisation, each of their live appearance is unique, yet a perfectly identifiable performance.

They’ve been producing hypnotic, mental and captivating techno music built around their machines for several years and with their latest release on Delsin, as well with releases on Monument and more, they are a mainstay in lots of dj bags. Synthek is a Berlin based Dj and producer, an owner of Natch Records and STK imprint. Always seeking for new influences, over the past years the style of his sets and productions faced constant evolution, focusing on deep rhythmics and powerful and introspective vibes.
Following few successful EP's on Natch Records, he released the debut album 'Unwise', in collaboration with the label partner AudioLouis. Unwise, seen as their last co-produced effort, got consecutively remixed by Polar Inertia, Antigone and Varg among others. Synthek started curating the booking of New Faces Wednesdays at Tresor Berlin since 2014, becoming a respected presence behind the decks of the legendary venue, especially for closing sets. The idea of creating STK, a self titled imprint - home of his own productions only, gives him the freedom to experiment and take new approaches to music production which significantly reshapes his signature sound. The initial wave of 3 EP's 'VERSE', launched in July 2015, brought him to look slightly away from the dancefloor, and finally orienting towards mind-twisting and psychedelic compositions. Beside STK, since his last appearance on Attic Music, for D.A.N.C.E 2, he released new material, like MRI EP on the Russian label Wunderblock, a remix alongside Svreca on Spanish Redpoint Alert, and a contribute for a compilation on OVUNQVE.
Synthek has recently been working on a new full-length project that will see the light early 2017.

Just like us she started with illegal raves and open airs, mainly together with the atopie crew (@atopiemusic) in Leipzig, followed by bigger gigs in Berlin and beyond. 
For her, DJing comes close to therapy and with her sets she's communicating in the most beautiful language there is, as she told us.

After witnessing one of their sets at Amsterdam institution @breakfast-club-music-1 last year, we felt an instant urge to invite Caim (@caim-records) to our mix series.

While Caim is a recent project, its members Tommy Kornuijt and Mark Antoni have been active in Amsterdam’s scene for years as independent DJ’s, most notably with their residency for the Breakfast Club where they have become known for extended after-hour sets. Last summer they released a first EP on their self-titled label Caim Records, with a second release scheduled for early 2019.

Our first mix of 2019 by Caim is a perfect reflection of their sound: Timeless and with a hypnotizing groove, it finely treads the line between organic techno and rolling breaks.

One of the most up-and-coming duo in deep techno; Primal Code shared a recording of their live performance at MOKA, a events series based in Milan. 1-and-a-half hour of soothing beats, acid and heartwarming sounds that hypnotise your mind.

It’s time for the 33rd upload already. This podcast is recorded by another DJ/producer from Sweden, but that should be no surprise. Efraim Kent is not a producer that releases many records. We got introduced to his music through a couple of tracks he released with Dorisburg on Tikita. The Moroccan label might be one of the most refreshing upcoming labels if you ask us. As one of our few residents, @steffenbennemann has played many sets in Olganitz - about half of them in numerous collaborations with friends. For our very last edition, he hooked up with @polooo who is also a firm Nachti favourite. Starting right before sunset they took us on a massive trip into the night that got the whole beach raving like there is no tomorrow.
