August's Amplified mix is a two part release. Sean Keating handles Part 1, recorded for a joint appearance with Aviatrix on Dialed In with Lash Larue for the summer festival series UNDERTOW the dos! We played these mixes live on air August 1st from 8-9pm, and 9-10pm. Although neither was recorded live, they have been recreated to encapsulate the experience of the mix in the 88.7 Cove FM studio.

Tāndāv Musicā, the brainchild of Halifax DJ Jay Vyas, emerges from the scenic shores of Nova Scotia. With a deep-rooted love for electronic house music that began in his teens, Jay explores a diverse range of genres, including melodic, organic, afro, Indo-house, and techno, infused with influences from Sufi, Indian classical, and Bollywood music.

Inspired by his South Asian heritage and a passion for cultural fusion, Jay's music transcends genre boundaries, weaving expansive textures and hypnotic rhythms that evoke both liberation and connection on the dance floor. His artistic vision, shaped by the cycles of creation, preservation, and dissolution, celebrates the timeless power of dance and music.

Jay has made a significant mark on the Atlantic Canada festival circuit, performing at events such as Future Forest and Electric Pines, and opening for Vibrancy Festival, which featured industry icons like Danny Tenaglia, Chloe Anderson, Conducta, Chloe Robinson, and Maya Jane Coles. As the founder and driving force behind Labyrinth HFX, he continues to spotlight local talent, curating unforgettable experiences for Halifax’s growing electronic music community.

A fixture on the East Coast electronic music scene for more than two decades, Sean has earned the respect of electronic music lovers, DJs and promoters all over with his intelligent and smooth storytelling blend of organic and progressive house.

A true technical perfectionist who combines outstanding programming skills with near flawless execution all while playing to the atmosphere in which he is performing, Sean once earned himself the reputation as one of the most consistent performers in the East. His professional approach and attention to detail provided him with many memorable opportunities throughout the years having compiled a very long list of accomplishments.

Introduced to electronic music in the 80s and early 90s by musical acts like Depeche Mode and New Order it wasn't until he listened to Sasha & John Digweed's "Northern Exposure" in 1996 that his world really changed forever. Falling in love with the sound of the Global Underground, Sean was moved to share this new found love of electronic dance music with others. After an extended period of honing basic DJ skills at home he recorded and distributed his first demo to a few select Halifax promoters and was lucky enough to be given his first public performance at the now infamous Baseline Fridays @ Reflections.

Championing a sound and style that was a bit different for Halifax at the time, Sean quickly become known as one of the early pioneers of progressive house in Atlantic Canada. Holding residencies over the years with some of the most influential production companies including Massive Productions and Underdog Productions while also working the after hours scene with Kyle Kurts at various venues including Sub Rosa, Sean's reputation in the scene grew and provided him with many memorable experiences having played alongside a very long list of some of the world's biggest headliners including Armin Van Buuren, Deep Dish, Danny Howells, Luke Fair, Steve Porter, Ferry Corsten, Kaskade, Calvin Harris, Darude and Sultan to name just a few. In 2003 Sean was lucky enough to play alongside one of the DJs ultimately responsible for his musical journey, Sasha. A very special club event that continued into the wee hours of the morning at a local after hours venue where Sean & Sasha treated a small, intimate crowd to an impromptu tag set that still remains as one of Halifax's most indelible electronic music memories.

Somewhat more recently in 2011 Sean provided the winning mix in John Digweed's "Structures Two" international mix contest and was featured on Digweed's highly acclaimed radio show "Transitions". An accomplishment that even the most seasoned of international touring DJs aspires to.

While Sean's live performances have become increasingly rare in recent years, his love for the music remains unwavering and he regularly releases new mixes in his long running mix series "Chilling Moments" which initially started as a SHOUTCast live broadcast through CyberDJs.ca and is now celebrating its 20th year.

With Sean's dedication to the craft, ear for the music and storytelling ability each one of his sets is sure to be an emotional journey through sound.

Gentlemen, 

It has come to my attention you are researching the history of codename DJ JOEY BRAVO, and it is imperative you cease and desist in such actions. Subject Bravo, has been a field operative for us in the use of audio-peace induction for several years. His unique talents are in danger if ever verified globally. Nevertheless, in the interest of co-operation between our departments, I can provide you with the following details about Joey Bravo, bearing in mind, even with our resources, the veracity of this information is difficult to determine.
We believe the subject was born to merchant sailors near the Ivory Coast sometime in the mid-80s. Then known as Joey S, Bravo displayed an ability with auditory entrancement  from even a young age. Somalian traders have legends of the “Oog Timo Shaab” (“Fire Haired Boy”), who they say could cause the waves to dance with love.
Sightings are spotty after that. We do know a red-headed teenage prodigy was recorded leading an impromptu rave in Sarajevo in October of 1993. The event culminated in a 300-person orgy. 
We also believe he may have been involved in the 1997 disappearance of all the first-born teenagers in Focktown, a small town on the Southern tip of Spain. Witnesses say the children danced off into the dark woods one night, following “el hombre de jengibre” (“The Ginger Man”). 
Occasional “wobbly bass” originating within the jungles of Belize led to workers discovering Joey Bravo living with a previously undiscovered tribe in more stuff that’s not anything but we need to fill up space  2000. None survived.
A roughly triangular archipelago, 100 km off of Australia's eastern coast, is known as Bravo's Corner to locals; though there appears to be no known origins of the name, nor any scientific explanation as to why the area has an unusually large number of planes and boats disappear while travelling through. 
From intelligence we’ve gathered through our sources in foreign covert agencies, and various sexy, big-titted spies, we believe his clothing is custom-tailored in Florence. His turntables crafted from fine metals and porcelains in Israel. His needles folded and forged by legendary Masamune swordsmiths in Japan.  
The subject was last spotted in Nova Scotia, Canada. His intent within that isolated province remain unknown, but it appears he has been crafting new materials...building. Unsettling though it may be, Bravo appears to be preparing for some event yet to occur. 
With this rough history in mind, it is of the utmost international security that all projects worked on by Joey Bravo remain strictly beyond top secret. Gentlemen, as far as the world is concerned, DJ Joey Bravo does not exist. For all our sakes, let's hope it stays that way.
