"Амазонія плаче" - пісня присвячена Джеймсу Мейсу (1952-2004). Американський історик, політолог, журналіст, професор Києво-Могилянської академії, дослідник голодомору в Україні, автор звіту комісії Конгресу США з вивчення Голодомору 1932—1933 років. Саме завдяки його дослідженням світ дізнався про Голодомор в Україні. Серед предків мав представників індіанського племені черокі, котрі через рішення уряду США були зігнані і переселені з корінних земель. У своїй автобіографії саме цим фактом він пояснював своє зацікавлення геноцидами, зокрема Голодомором. Загинув внаслідок нападу і побиття київськими гопниками на Троєщині. Похований на Байковому кладовищі.
