Athens based Marine Tordjemann alias OKO DJ is Preceded by a well-earned reputation as one of the most forward thinking and genre expanding selectors in the game. Her sets weave the weird and the wonderful into dance experiences that hit every extreme. Tender, disturbing, refreshingly unpredictable - she isn’t an artist to miss.

Tordjemann has been a core element of Judaah’s label Brothers From Different Mothers for a decade, besides being also the founder of LYL Radio’s Paris department, where she has been hosting her show Pu$$y Nightmare since then.

Pu$$y Nightmare has evolved into a unique party series shining a light on FLINTAQ* artists, and focusing on bringing more consciousness and spirituality to the underground music scene. 

The key element of PU$$Y NIGHTMARE events is a Sacred Circle guided by OKO DJ herself as an opening ritual to any party. It’s a grounding practice that focuses on the mind-body-soul connection and celebrates what makes us unique: our inner beauty, our vulnerability, our magic.

As a producer, artist and energetic work facilitator, Tordjemann is a master at channeling surrounding energies and forces in her art with unrestrained panache and authenticity. She is greatly inspired by the power of nature and the Divine Feminine - that’s how she crafted an acclaimed first mini-album between experimental and spoken-word about the teachings of the Cycle, featuring « one of the coolest downtime tracks of the year » (RA).

There is definitely a lot more to expect in the future from OKO DJ, as her inspiration continues to unravel along her personal and spiritual journey.

Imagine this scenario: Sometime during the last XX years. You`re navigating in one of the trustworthiest club in Leipzig. You receive an unpredictable, instantly hip-loosening, expertly , but oh-so-casual performed set, in which you want to dance for evermore. A light-footed ride over the keyboard of contemporary and universal sounds from organic-melodic house and disco through to soulful techno. You have to know who operates the controller here. You’re dancing towards the DJ booth . Who do you behold behind the turntables? Filburt. His sets between turntablism and beat match expertise, mindful of his flowing together in the great Floor formula style horizons are no more regional phenomenon. As 50 % of Good Guy Mikesh & Filburt and also as a producer / DJ on his own Filburts effective radius has expanded into the national and international in the recent years. As the former manager of the renowned Leipzig Vinyl Dealers Freezone Records and owner of the label O * RS was or is he active at all possible switching points of the scene. The experience behind the decks and in the periphery trains his sense for the perfect club track for years. Several formulations with this feeling for House and everything adjacent have already appeared on labels like Permanent
Vacation , Liebe * Detail , Mirau , Dirt Crew , Compost and Riotvan.

Woody is the original sonic funkateer whose life is completely focused on music and his very own definition of FUNK. He’s a genuine kind of a guy, needing nothing more than two turntables, a mixer and an audience to know he’s alive. For him DJing and making music is not just a job, it's his destiny. Rewind back to the mid-80's when Woody started off in Munich's graffiti and breakdance scene. Alr eady a superb breakdancer, he soon became an even better DJ.
Woody played his first gigs in Munich`s famous "Babalu Club". Thanks to his God-given talent and hard work, Woody was soon getting booked into the techno clubs of Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt. In 1992 Woody took the chance to become Resident DJ in Berlin’s best and most influential club concept "Planet", which later became the world-famous "E-Werk".
Woody's star rose to unbelievable heights as he completely controlled the crowd. His music brought this remarkable venue to life and his cross-pollenation style from deep pumping techno & smokin` house to electrofunk and several oldschool classics was a blueprint for numerous DJs who heard and saw Woody play. He rocked the house and laid the foundation for Berlin`s nightlife fame, playing a key role in the genesis of Berlin`s own club sound. Since then Woody has become one of Germany’s most respected DJs. Woody has travelled all over continental Europe (including the east), Scandinavia, USA, Central America, Israel, Asia like Japan and Thailand to spin in virtually every (good) club, showing off his unique track selection and brilliant DJ skills. Other remarkable highlights of Woody`s thrilling DJ career are his annual appearences at the Love Parade finale with over 1,5 Million people in Berlin. On his home patch, Woody always likes to run his own club nights where the guest program is decided by him, as well as supervising the visual aspect, which is an important element of the nightlife experience: perfect music and special visuals! His earlier residency in Berlin was his monthly “Klub Berlin”, where he already invited international guests. Actually he's regularly playing at the Watergate and organise his own Sunday Open Air After hour Party named Electronic Waves, where most respected DJs and Live Acts played so far. Like Ricardo Villalobos, Guido Schneider, Matt John, My My, Efdemin, Ben Klock, the Fumakilla Family and many more… Woody is also the man behind the extremely successful Fumakilla Label which he launched in 2000 after he finished the production of his first tracks. Its aim is to become a homebase for lots of upcoming producers and the definition of modern clubfunk. Due to the fact that his first ever remix (Woody vs. Kissogramm "If I had known this before") directly entered the German charts, he`s now one of the most sought after remixers in Germany. In 2002 he remixed the likes of Felix da Housecat and 2-Raumwohnung. His Tracks and Remixes played by key players like Carl Craig, Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos. His first album “Selected Works 2002-2006” released 2008 is deep and a good balance between old and new school. There you can find fresh and modern sounds but also a retrospection of his work. His production combines quality undergroud music with a strong international appeal and the potential to attract a bigger audience. You can hear the influences of Chicago Jack-House, Detroit Techno and his B-Boy definition of sound. In every single track you can trace Woody’s talent for minimal changes in the melody which catch just about every crowd. If you need to give it a name, file under FUMAKILLA FUNK.

Kicking off the release is the sounds of the title track, ‘Gymnastics’. A gnarly, synth heavy track that will breathe life into any set it’s allowed to roam free in, it’s the sort of cut you’ll be humming long after the night has drawn to a close. Full of zippy, dextrous sounds and deceptively simple, this baseline-led anthem might be classic in structure yet still manages to portray a forward-facing ethos. 
Next up is the remix, which comes at us courtesy of Betonkust. Although his effort is a far cry from the original, it too is never lacking in heart. Full of shiny, glistening, almost camp vibes, it’s the sort of smile-inducing record that could just as easily have come out on eclectic labels a la Running Back or Hivern Discs. A truly momentous way to polish the original, it’s hardly surprising Betonkust has been siding up alongside Palmboman and playing the likes of Dekmantel of late.
 
Last but not least is Back for Good’s second original, the aptly named ‘Wasted’. An engaging but stifling and at times uncomfortable track, it’s the sort of lo-fi cut that gets under your skin in all the right ways. A fine foil to matters elsewhere, it signs off the EP with rich aplomb. A fascinating insight into the mind of two producers we’re sure to be hearing more from soon, Turn it Down’s latest is a truly impressive one.
