Bass Scoops Radio in conversation with Unkut Music aka Swankout. It was a privilege to sit down with  the producer  Danny Hughes , better known as Swankout, Unkut  and one half of  Unkoded with Kodan. Danny shared with us his production tips, insights on the current DJ scene, some great memories of the old school rave days and what it's like to be a bass music producer working with some of the top names in the scene today. Bass Scoops Radio In Conversation With Unkut Music aka  Swankout September 2022

Broadcasting from the South West of the UK expect a lot of jungle, dub, hardcore and sounds loosely termed "rave".  The more "left field" the better and our selectors try to bring a few less heard cuts to the mix. We love the roots of the scene, respecting  the forefathers and mothers of the music so we'll be dropping some classics  in with the new tracks pushing bass music forward. Alongside the above genres we can't miss out on a good tune so  you'll also hear  acid house, balearic , house and their  evolutionary  offspring  like trip hop, dubstep, d&b, UK Garage and more...

New on Pharmacom Records is Ohrchitekt's "EXP-DNB-Set" - an approx. 52 minutes non stop journey into his specific Drum'n'Bass realm which is jam-like, lead by non standard beats and breaks, Electronica influences and some Electro and Downtempo breakdowns. Some will call it Leftfield Drum'n'Bass, some will name it as experimental, which is what "EXP" in the albums title stands for I reckon, and some will refer to it as IDM or DarkJungle rather than Drum'n'Bass. But whatever definition you choose, this one is interesting and defo stands out from what your everyday producer serves on 12" these days. Recommended to open minded people and not to those who expect UK-standards whenever they think of experimental Drum'n'Bass these days.
