Berlin-based artist and label project ASEC, centered around raw, yet hypnotic and dancefloor-oriented electronic music is our guest for podcast number 102. To Berlin via Manchester, ASEC’s music focuses on tension and release with tracks that build momentum and intensity. As a Producer, Live Act and DJ, ASEC delivers his driving and expansive vision of electronic music which consists of dark textures, idiosyncratic melodies and dynamic drum sounds. With feature-length releases exclusively on his own label, ASEC’s tracks have acquired DJ support from household names like Luke Slater, Rodhad, Ben Klock, Setaoc Mass and many more. ASEC is one of the few artists to consistently and successfully execute the modular live set resulting in his live show debut in Tresor.

BCCO Mix Series 102: ASEC

Materia Hache is a Berlin-based DJ, part of a new generation that still wants to make politics through the sound, the dancefloor and the mix. Founder and promoter of @otherstothefront and curator of their series #HouseOfOthers 
They define themselves as a House DJ, understanding the genre as something dynamic and fluid. Their sound mixes old-school and new-school from 120bpm up to 140bpm, constantly trying to capture the heartbeat of the dancefloor.  You will dance to a range from jackin' techno to Underground House, from the deepest to the most uplifting beats, always in search of the groove and dance. They understand the DJ Booth/Dancefloor relationship as elements that communicate and travel together, both part of the same thing. Nobody is more than anybody on the dancefloor. Through their DJ sets they fight in order to create a dancefloor that deserves to be danced, giving visibility and voice to the FLINTA&POC community.
