Baptism of Uzi are one of Melbourne's most mercurial and exciting rock and roll bands. Over the past year they've impressed crowds at Laneway Festival, New Zealand's Camp a Low Hum festival and on their recent national tour with iconic artist Michael Rother of seminal experimental band NEU! with a show described as "an impressive combo of psychedelica and perfectly executed prog-/space-rock riffs". The release of the Cassette EP drew acclaim from local press for being "acid rock in its most confronting grinding, cerebral guise ... awash with progressive rock indulgence" and has seen them play packed-out headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

Baptism follow the energy of the crowd at every show, resulting in a live spectacle that is always different and new. This willingness to experiment and travel over unknown terrain has lead to them being touted as "quite possibly the most exciting band doing the rounds at the moment - a Baptism of Uzi show is an epic event." One of the most striking and instantly pleasurable elements of their sound is the intertwining harmonies of the two lead guitars which sit on top of the pulsing bedrock of bass, drums and swirling old school synth freak outs. But they're not just a "jam' band, and the beauty of tightly crafted pop hooks and melodies is never too far away from the progression of the music. Baptism of Uzi cover ambient funked-out future pop as well as feedback-heavy guitar drone explosions.
