I did two mixes for BB Critch for this song. The first is the big bright Radio Mix that shows all the parts big n brash and this version with a warmer sound favoring the acoustic guitar lines over the electrics.

BB Critch feat Mella - Lotta Lotta Fun - Benedict Roff - Marsh Lean Mix

Tony has sung for decades and even written quite a few songs that have been recorded by other people. This is the first time he has stepped into the hot seat with one of his own, at seventy-one! We made sure the song was tight then recorded 5 good takes here in my mixing studio. Tony wanted a gang feel with the vocals. I took the main take and worked it as the lead. The other takes I processed like each was another singer with some sense of Hendrix, Elvis & Boz Scaggs for feel. The final mixdown, I treated the vocals somewhat like The Highwaymen live where all those strong singers work in lovely ragged harmony.

This is the lead track (and one of the "radio songs" from Jake's first full-length album in which I wore the hats of Record Producer, Mix & Master, and interim Manager to be sure everything all came together with a strong vision.

this is a remaster of the band ZEROp. the band recorded an album at the legendary BOP-studios in south africa in 1992.
the tracking was done in studio 1 (as seen in the picture) on the largest focusrite console of the world. recorded digitally with a 48-track studer tape machine and the NED-tapeless studio (synclavier). due to the fact that the multitrack tapes went „missing“, the album was never mixed as such.
the ruff-mixes from the recording sessions were later released on CD.

the band consisted of bandleader and guitar-virtuoso angi schiliro (KINGDOME COME), on drums the magnificent diego rapacchietti (CORONER), further more claudio schiliro (vox), enzo butta (bass) and demetrio pisano (keys).
the record was produced and engineered by paolo fedrigoli at BOP studios south africa (remastered 2022 at SCHALLZENTRALE soundstudio by paolo fedrigoli).

ZEROp "Waiting for your Love" ... produced & remastered

Jake of J-Hit Records came to me with a song he had developed with Jackson Brash. It is a charming summer "fun in the sun" song. He wanted a mix that felt more like something from the 60s than the typical LOUD thing. I was delighted as it is such a charming song. We sat together through the whole process (seeing Jake and I live close) and discussed everything I was doing, Why this thing, and not what they say in those Tuts??? Jake was surprised at how different the process was.

This was great track to prepare like it was a Stevie Wonder track in 1964 as it is a well-written and arranged track with solid performances. Much of the material was MIDI but with my approach, it feels like a lively track, full of character.

A very sweet summer seaside Country song with shades of Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and The Beach Boys "Kokomo". When the raw material is a good as this, it is a joy to mix.

I am a Mix Engineer. My approach is different from the typical online mixer these days. My approach is to use the mix to help tell the Story of your Song. I am not looking to make the loudest or widest mix, but to make your song very emotionally engaging. If you find yourself tired of all those loud but flat mixes, give me a try.

I write Space Music which I consider a form of Proto-Techno or Techno as it was initially formed by artists like Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Tomita etc. A few oddities get put here. Most of my work is on my site and bandcamp.
