Роман «Hinter uns das Land» («Земля позаду нас») заснований на реальній історії моєї матері, яка втекла зі Східної Пруссії під час Другої світової війни. Ця книга розповідає про світ, зруйнований війною, і про довгі пошуки нового дому. На жаль, ця історія – не лише минувшина. Сьогодні вона повторюється.

Я створив цю адаптацію як жест солідарності та співпереживання. Послання цієї пісні – про те, що навіть після глибокої втрати новий дім можна знайти в своєму серці, де росте любов – це мій скромний внесок, щоб подарувати вам надію та силу. Це нагадування про те, що ви не самотні у своїй боротьбі, і що здатність людського духу до зцілення та відбудови – безмежна.

This Ukrainian version of "Epilogue: A Place Called Home" is a gift from the heart. It is dedicated to the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

The novel "Hinter uns das Land" ("The Land Behind Us") is based on my mother's true story of flight and loss from East Prussia during World War II. It tells of a world shattered by war and the lifelong search for a new home. Tragically, this story is not just history. Today, it repeats itself.

I created this Ukrainian adaptation as a gesture of solidarity and empathy. The song's message – that even after profound loss, a new home can be found within the heart where love grows – is my humble offering of hope and strength. It is a reminder that you are not alone in your struggle, and that the human spirit's capacity to heal and rebuild is boundless.

The strength was waiting all along.

Gerald Harris was born in Grenada MS. Now reside in Minneapolis Minnesota I have worked as a session musician for many different Christian artist throughout the Nashville Tennessee to Atlanta Georgia area for years. He is a accomplished guitarist and pianist, recorded his first R&B release at age 18 with Carrie Records in Nashville TN. Worked with such awesome musician like T.C. Campbell, which later played with the group Cameo. Gerald Harris is a BMI publisher/ singersongwriter, debut album Latter Rain, released March 13, 2012, with Tate Music Group, is still playing in places like the UK, on Cross Rhythms Radio. TV debut on the Great Day Live Morning Show, in Louisville KY.

Deutscher Singer-Songwriter über fünfzig Jahre alt. Seit fast vierzig Jahren schreibe und singe ich Lieder. Mein Hauptinstrument ist die akustische Gitarre, aber ich mag auch Perkussionsinstrumente (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). Ich liebe es, melancholische und poetische Balladen zu komponieren. Aber manchmal schreibe ich auch (schwarze) humorvolle Songs, Jazzstyle und -Rocksongs. Meine Hauptsprache ist Deutsch. Aber in Zukunft will ich mehr Songs auf Englisch und vereinzelt auch Französisch schreiben.
In meinen Kompositionen bin ich inspiriert von Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Jacques Brel, Van Morrison und Bob Dylan. Auf meinen Platten spiele und singe ich alles alleine. Meine Vision für die Zukunft ist es, Musiker aus verschiedenen Kulturen zu finden, die gerne ihre Tracks mit mir teilen wollen.
Mein persönliches Mantra ist ein Satz, der von Paul Mccartney auf dem Beatles-Album "Abbey Road auf dem Track "In the end" vor fast Fünfzig Jahren geschrieben wurde:

German singer-songwriter over fifty years old. For almost forty years I have been writing and singing songs. My main instrument is the acoustic guitar, but I also like percussion instruments (Cajon, Maracas, Gurio). I love composing melancholic and poetic ballads. But sometimes I also write (black) humorous songs, jazz style and rock songs. My main language is German. But in the future I want to write more songs in English and occasionally also in French.
In my compositions I am inspired by Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Jacques Brel, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. On my records I play and sing all by myself. My vision for the future is to find musicians from different cultures who would like to share their tracks with me.
My personal mantra is a sentence written by Paul Mccartney on the Beatles album "Abbey Road on the track "In the end" almost fifty years ago:

The love you take is equal to the love you make.
