To my hometown for Christmastime

The western sky was glowing red
as the night turned purple overhead

Planes were leaving long white scars
I’d given anything to be up there
Flying far away from here

That was years ago
The last time that I went home
Now I’d give anything to go back where I belonged

In the town that held my secrets deep
To see the soft glow of the Christmas lights
In the windows around the old house of mine

To feel the warmth of Christmas from years ago
But things have changed so much I know
We all have gone separate ways
And it all feels so far away

Friends and family that I depended on
That world is gone
