Inspired by music of the Bahamas, her cousin Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the underground sounds of the legendary Simon’s in Gainesville … Melanie Moore’s career as a DJ had to happen. Growing up in South Florida and sailing through the islands, Melanie danced on the docks and dabbled in percussion at big game fishing tournaments from the time she was 3. Classical guitar training and the French horn followed before she realized turntables and a mixer would become her key instruments and house music would be the way.
She has performed professionally as a house and techno DJ since 1995 and spent the majority of that time between New York City, Colorado and Santa Fe where she lives today. A product of the early 90s Simon’s days, the Twilo days in New York and starry nights under the New Mexico skies, her sound is a combination of the beautiful and the scary, the sexy and sophisticated, the slamming and eclectic. 
Melanie formed Melanie Moore Media LLC in 2006, and divides her time as a DJ and entrepreneur.In public opinion polls of the Santa Fe Reporter’s annual “Best of Santa Fe” issue, Melanie was voted in the Top 3 in 2005, 2006 and 2008. 
When performing, Melanie’s devotion to the crowd and respect for their vibe dictates her set list, which evolves uniquely through out the night. She says, “My ambition each and every time is to create a seamless blend of music that people are impressed by and not always expecting. They never see me coming but I am often told, they know exactly when I get there”.
Her influences come from many different corners of the world, including the stylistic abilities of Laurent Garnier and the extended success of the Chili Peppers who remain a constant source of inspiration and reminder that anything is possible in music.
Event productions she is most well known for include Sex on Vinyl, a moniker for performances on 4 to 8 turntables with her long time companions in mixing house music;Black Swans - a series of rare and unpredicted events featuring world renowned artists such as Johnny Fiasco and Joe DiPadova ; Dancing Rams - the April showdown in NYC with collaborators Wendy Herm and Stadenco and World Cup DJs - a30 day event during the FIFA World Cup which pairs over 32 DJs with international teams in the tournament. The World Cup DJs are required to have a bloodline to the nation they represent, and as the teams are eliminated so go the DJs. By the time the semi-finals arrived, this party earned the distinction of buckling the new floor at the venue.

Anton Tumas moves quietly but leaves deep footprints. DJ, sound designer, event architect, and founder of Subtract Music, he has spent more than a decade stripping away gimmicks and focusing on what actually matters: music, systems, and the people in front of them.

He’s played everywhere from LA warehouses to Moontribe, Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle, Further Future, and Woogie Weekend, sharing the booth with Hernán Cattáneo, DJ Tennis, Danny Howells, and many more. His sets live in the overlap between deep house, techno, and hypnotic electronica, guided by a simple filter: forward‑thinking, emotionally honest, and built to last.

As a promoter, Anton prefers results over hype. Subtract On The Pier turned a Long Beach snack shack into an eleven‑season institution, hosting everyone from Doc Martin and Lee Burridge to Patrice Bäumel and Mathew Jonson. As producer of Love Long Beach Festival, he helps draw over 10,000 people to the waterfront each year, using high‑end sound and surgical curation to make large events feel intimate and human.

Subtract, the label, follows the same philosophy: release slowly, and only when the music demands it. That approach has built a catalog that spans emerging voices and veterans like John Digweed, Stimming, and Matthew Dekay, and it has carried Anton’s own productions to imprints such as All Day I Dream, Sudbeat, Balance, Endless, Sol Selectas, and Subtract itself, including collaborations with Hernán Cattáneo, Dave DK, and Jamie Stevens.

Underneath all of this is one ongoing project: subtract everything inessential until only the real remains—whether that’s a record, a sound system, an event, or a moment on the dance floor. The landscape keeps evolving, and so does he, but the direction stays the same: less noise, more truth, and better bass.

Desert Dwellers is a pioneering electronic music project that bridges the ancient and the future, fusing deep bass, world instrumentation, and psychedelic textures into immersive sonic journeys. Founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, the project grew out of the legendary Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of Southern California and Santa Fe, New Mexicos desert rave scene. 

Blending influences from many genres, Desert Dwellers has released dozens of albums and remixes, toured across five continents, and collaborated with an eclectic array of artists from around the world. Their music has graced stages at Symbiosis, Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man, resonating with audiences through both meditative journeys and powerful dancefloor experiences.

In 2026, Desert Dwellers will enter its most significant evolution yet. Co-founder Amani Friend will be stepping away from touring to focus on studio production and other creative pursuits, while a new collaborator joined the project, acclaimed producer and mixing/mastering engineer Sarkis Mikael. While continuing to honor the project’s signature sound and ethos “Music Beyond Borders,” Desert Dwellers is now expanding into bold new sonic territories. Sarkis, with releases on respected labels like Sol Selectas, Saisons, and Hoomidaas, brings a fresh creative spark and deep musical integrity.
