Mister Willis is an english dj. During his 12 years spent in Manchester enjoying nightlife and club culture from a young age, the city was a fantastic place by having some of the best parties, records shop, music institution in the Uk and being surrounded by many djs/producers that made him develop his hobby to a passion and started playing locally. Now based in Berlin for 3 years he is the resident of Rave Atlas parties held in Suicide Circus and occasionally have a takeover at Hoer Berlin a few times a year. Over lockdown he started ‘Gardens’ with budding DJ Sparkling Water Dreams, a platform to showcase their music, that maybe don’t always get opportunities to do so. 
However Black owls is happy to have him onboard by offering us the second part of this series of podcasts.

MISTER WILLIS - BLACK OWLS PODCAST 02

Coming from an industrial rave background, 131bpm is known for his digging skills, playing illegal parties, and constantly looking for new sonic sonorities.

Always sweaty and sexy, his sets are eclectic, ranging from punchy techno to vocal electro breakbeat smattered with chicago ghetto house and 90´s groovy tracks.

Solidly rooted in the Berlin queer techno scene, he has played events such as Whole Festival in Ferropolis, Lecken and Members in Berlin, Sous Tes Reins in Paris, and in Milan for Solida and Vitamina where he is a resident.

He's now delivering the third podcast.

Marseille based producer, Damien Lapéna launched Elyas project on Modularz in 2012.
During this period he had the chance to play in prestigious places in Europe such as: Tresor,Berghain, Corsica studio, Cassette club, as well as in New York (National Underground).
In these events he shared the line-up with artists such as: Function, Pfirter, Developer, Grindvik ...

He released over 30 vinyls with different projects and collaborated with artists such as: Jerome Sydenham, Perc, Dustin Zahn, Developer and many more.
After a musical break, new things will happen in 2021, new projects as Elyas arrive on legendary Soma records and on Ben Sims imprint Symbolism. He also launch 13130 Space project on his new label Seclusion early 2021, some releases already out notably with some Detroit artists: "Mark Flash", "Hlx1", Blak Tony, Alan Oldham "Dj T-1000"as well as artists from the current techno scene like: Samuel L Session, Edit Select, Mal Hombre...

He is now delivering the fifth chapter of this Black owls journey.

ELYAS - BLACK OWLS PODCAST 05

"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." Ever since he understood these words, Yes'in hasn't stopped collecting records and traveling the world. Music journeys with him and he trips with music. Born in Casablanca, it's there that Yassine Hafdane (Yes'in) had his first experiences in the music world at a very early age. The morrocan quickly became interested in deejaying in the beginning of the last decade after playing and experimenting all percussion and rhythm instruments, listening to his dad's discotheque which included rare records from Blaxploitation pioneers such as Curtis Mayfield or world music records like Afro-pop Band Osibisa . Shortly after that, Yes'in decided to move to the South of France, and Toulouse quickly adopted him. it' s there that he was drawn to electronic music and clearly established his artistic identity after building up his own collection of vinyls. Yes'in then started performing as a DJ, mixing Funk music, Disco, House and Techno tracks during his sets, giving them a colorful and original style. His playlists are selected with finesse and oscillate between African groove and European rigor, with minimalistic tones. Upon hearing them, one is sometimes tempted to speak of the possibilities of "white man mistake funk". His career as a producer started in 2010 with "The Ghetto Street" released on Scander records which got a brilliant success & was charted and broadcasted by many radios and podcasts.

YES'IN - BLACK OWLS PODCAST 06

Rodrigo Agüero a.k.a Dying, is a DJ and Producer born in Argentina.
In 2008 he started DJing in the techno scene of Buenos Aires and his career has transcended internationally performing in clubs such as Tresor, Der Stur, Studio 21, Cocoliche, Under Club, Bahrein, Niceto Club, Avant Garten, King Club, Osa Club sharing booth with artists such as Dj Surgeles, Tadeo, Benjamin Damage, Philippe Petit, Christian Wunsch, Jonas Kopp, Andres Zacco, and Seph among others.

In 2012 he starts to release his collaborations in digital format and during the same year he releases his first reference vinyl "Conviccion" with his partner Barakat on the French label CLFT with remixes by Mattias Fridell, MTD and Jeroen Search.
Later in 2016, the duo gets their second vinyl release titled "Modernismo" with the collaboration of Bleak on the French label Knotweed Records.
In turn in 2018 they released together their third reference vinyl titled "El Sueño de una Teoria", obtaining the support of great artists of the world scene.
This allowed the project "Dying & Barakat" to make their first duo tour in several European countries, which would lead them to present their LIVE set at the mythical Tresor club in Berlin. In 2019 they release their fourth vinyl release "Exploracion Desconocida" on Axaminer Records from Czech Republic.

This year Dying presents their album "Ciudad Incognita", a release celebrating the 10th anniversary of Knotweed Records and “Different World” on Sungate Records and "Music Over Midnight" on Detroit Classic Gallery showing an evolution with different visions of techno, taking a journey through sounds without limits.
The constant advance in experimentation and music production influenced by early dub, electro, 90s and 00s Tribal Techno has led him to develop a particular vision with a futuristic perspective on electronic music, his productions explore exclusively Ambient, Deep and Techno.

DYING - BLACK OWLS PODCAST 07

Mark Sweeney aka Mal_Hombre is A Glasgow born techno DJ and producer who is based in Leeds, England. Having Dj under is own name for many years in Central America ignited the passion for producing the genre and creating the Mal_hombre alias.

With a host of previous releases under his belt, in 2021 Mark released a total of 40 total tracks on various labels. It was this year he aslo released his first album "Andromeda outpost" on Jeff mills' Axis records, being the first ever Uk producer to release an album on the legendary techno.

With his music continually supported at big techno events by Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Joseph Capriati, Black lotus and Jeff mills was included in Dave Clarke's top 10 producers for 2021.

Mark continues in 2022 with various other released lined up on Edit Select (4th time) and Illegal Alien from Mexico.

MAL HOMBRE - BLACK OWLS PODCAST 08

After living in the past 3 decades in cities such as Venice, Miami, Berlin, Istanbul and most recently Marseille and being a bit influenced from each one of these places (plus his beautiful country of origin), the Albanian dj has developed his own  unique style of clockwork vinyl only mixing, with a selection that ranges from Techno to Drum n Bass and whatever else lies in between, sometimes hitting the house spectrum to add color to his sets which are always energetic and mental, a bit dark at times but always uplifting.

His love for mixing started back in 2004 when he was not even 18 yet, but the real turning point was when, after working one summer between school, the son of migrants was finally able to afford a pair of bad functioning 5th hand turntables and an old Stanton mixer.
This was the beginning of the end for him, from then on he was completely hooked on music and working hard in his daily jobs to support his main passion of digging into record shops around the world.
In 2015 things started to get finally a bit of a professional turn, when some gigs started to pop up and some collaborations and affiliations started (first affiliation ever was the Berlin’s infamous crew Lounge Squatt, a team he still calls family). He played in various parties in and around Berlin, in Istanbul, in his homeland of Albania and also in Kosovo, plus off course in Italy too and collected a remarkable series of important experiences which shaped the next step in his career: starting his own party series.
After moving in France during the pandemic of covid19, Avni forced at home brain stormed together with his wife in how to create a new series of events that can stand out from the masses, using the little funds available to them they launched Paroxysm Ltd, a party series and soon a vinyl only label based on the concept “no cdjs, no posers, only vinyl or analog machines” that will host events in France and abroad, completely independent, DIY and with a “no sponsor” policy, the two founders were able to secure for all the season 2022-2023 one of the best spaces available in Marseille for a monthly party, something very rare in the city of Marseille which is about to bring great surprises to the local scene.

Born in 1987 in the North of France, François has been immersed in electronic music from a young age.
His debut in the mix took place in 2001, and composition in 2005.
The year 2019 marks its emergence under the pseudonym “Fhase 87”

Thomas Barnett is a musician, DJ, songwriter, producer, remixer, &amp; poet born &amp; raised in
Detroit, USA. His early work as a founding member of the ground-breaking dance-music group,
Rhythim Is Rhythim, contributed to &amp; helped establish what has become the signature sound of
&quot;Detroit Techno&quot;.  Later, Barnett created Visillusion Records, an electronic music label that
specializes in DJ friendly music as well as experimental &amp; eclectic electronica.  Barnett is a
sought after producer, remixer &amp; DJ/performer that never leaves an audience unsatisfied with
his high energy performance and original style of music.

A.mo is an assertive artist with a dark yet always vibrant universe. Passionate about electronic music for many years, she found a new way to express herself behind the turntables, allowing her to reveal the other side of her personality. 

 Coming from a classical music and dance background, she also developed a sense of rhythm and percussion that shapes her musical aesthetic. She takes pleasure to build incisive sets intended to transport us, playing fast-paced mental techno, between percussive grooves and dark atmospheres, building percussive sets intended to transport us. 

She shared the bill with renowned artists like Setaoc Mass, Marcel Dettmann or Adriana Lopez. 
A.mo is also an After ‘O’Clock resident at Glazart Paris and a member of the Vénus Club, a women's collective of DJs and professionals of the electronic industry.

DPM 3000's unique blend of Detroit techno and New York deep house is fine-tuned for big rooms. Hear the flex of this humble Midwestern up-and-comer who prefers to let his music and mixing do the talking.

After years spent working tirelessly behind the scenes at labels, distributors, promoters, radio stations, and warming up top clubs, last year saw Disruptive Pattern Material take a step out of the shadows and into his own. The New York born, Michigan raised artist’s stints in Brooklyn and Detroit can be heard in his effortless mixing of American house and techno from past, present, and even the future. As a producer and remixer on the rise his music has been featured by DJ Mag, Blow Up Magazine, BBC Radio 1 and more while top-tier DJs such as Ben Sims, Len Faki, and Eats Everything support his music regularly. 

2021 saw the release of Disruptive Pattern Material's debut EP "Necessary" on Radio Slave’s internationally acclaimed label Rekids with supporting remixes from friends, idols, and mentors Terrence Parker, DJ Bone, and Scan 7. This first outing was quickly followed with Disruptive Pattern Material remixes of Marco Faraone and 2022 saw remixes for labels such as Uncage, Seclusion, and Fat Cat and more as well as the “Foundation” EP for Uncage featuring Detroit hi-tech jazz meets techno heavyweights De’Sean Jones and Jon Dixon. This year the focus is on remixes with four already confirmed for release in 2023.

TRYCK is a DJ & Producer based in Berlin. He is a part of Oxytocin Berlin which is a collective that has focused itself on Hard techno and Trance music. Besides playing at venues at Re:mise, Oxi and ://about blank, he has also been part of other events within and outside of Berlin.

His main inspiration comes from early 90´s and 00´s techno. Especially artists such as Regis, Surgeon, Luke Slater, Remco Beekwilder, Lars Klein, and Robert Natus. Besides the label work and his productions, he is also involved in a duo project of ‘Ultraflash’.

Native from the middle French land, vinyls activist from 2000’s ending,  A.Silentio started to make music to work one’s way up on his local scene before to be part of the new young Parisian’s scene with the
Moebius/Drom group.

Based several years in Lyon, he’s the first head of Partition Libre team, who made  parties with artist like Kangding Rey Kangding Ray, Neel, Korridor, Pacou or Dimi Angelis; just to name some of them. Inspired by artist as Donato  Dozzy, Sandwell District or Oscar Mulero, his first released came on 2016, for a VA on the interstellar label Why Are We Here and then on the Perchépolis record. 
From 2016 to 2023 he was a part of the Château Perché Festival team as stage manager and artistic director.

In 2022, he found Totem Rituel, a collectif between Lyon and Clermont who invite some artist as Claudio PRC, Orbe, Voiski or Polygonia.

Diapasøn, a passionate and versatile artist, has shown a deep interest in music and playing instruments of all kinds since a young age. It was in 2012 that he fully immersed himself in the world of electronic music, a means for him to fully express his passion for contemporary influences.

In 2015, he founded Cosmic Wave, initially as a collective, quickly evolving into a label which he has co-managed since 2017. A lover of vinyl, he crafts a unique sonic universe, navigating between ambient and psychedelic techno. His captivating music creates soundscapes filled with emotion and entrancing textures.

Since his debut on stage, Diapasøn has had the opportunity to play alongside many artists such as Claudio PRC, Christian Wünsch, Deniro, Benjamin Damage, Skudge, Blazej Malinowski, Polygonia, Lenson, and many others. All these performances have inspired him and contributed to shaping his artistic identity.
