 Orlando, Florida based label French Press Lounge sees it’s first release thru “Chillax,” a fuzzy slab of early cuts produced by Panhandle native/“label”-head Blair Sound Design, a.k.a. Kyle Lyon. 

	Culled over the naïve bedroom sessions of early university, “Chillax” is akin to blaring an extra hot mixtape from a junky deck in your car on your way to Cape Canaveral to see the last space shuttle leave Earth, all while trying to speed run Kirby’s Dream Land on your sister’s GameBoy Color. 

	Heavy sampling tends to drive this Jeep and give it some character, many popular/unknown gems lifted from various dusty tapes and wax procured from thrift stores and vinyl throughout Northern Florida; cheap drum machines are clumsily slammed against it all and keep everything in a familiarly dance-y zone, while amateur chords and melodies are provided via Guitar Center synths and YouTube ripped Commodore 64 blips and stabs (note the cheeky Nintendo voices as outliers). A fusion of analog discoveries and pixelated memories (melded together by the relentless Florida heat), its an apt soundtrack for long and wistful road trips.

	All in all, “Chillax” is a truly rough and (almost) ready affair, offering an earnest beginning from Blair Sound Design as he looks to capture the pitfalls of responsibility and nostalgia and drive it towards something rewarding and present.

"`'`'~"~`''`~'``'`'`''` Capturing the solitude & longing of a life spent indoors, "Interior Vista" leans on soundtrack pads, bell tones, pianos, disco loops and field recordings of the everyday activities pursued around Tallahassee and within the French Press Lounge c. 2015. "~"``'`'"~`'~~'`While wax sourced boogie percussion provide forward momentum to joints like "Sentimental" & "Traveller's Lid," the rhythms are not in a hurry, encouraging a laid-back listening experience without skimping on the bass. "`'``'~'`'`~'`""~~'`'`'`'~"~' Beans crunching, fields rustlin', the sound of rain sparking through the kitchen door and a coupla of inland seagulls can be heard beneath the wash of mid-frequencies "`'`"~ Lush orchestral strings, MIDI flute & sax, plastic-y drum kits and a sense of wistfulness all settle in their place throughout the journey, a gentle para-glide down towards the pixel-only island seen across the parking lot through the vapor hanging in the open studio window. Blair Sound Design - Bamboo View (Dew Version)

Having been steadily absorbing the flowery humidity in steamy spa towns of central Florida since his debut outing Chillax, Floridian $1 house music purveyor Blair Sound Design aka Kyle Lyon emerges into the Lobster forest with all 16-bit brass and duvet filters blazing.

Taking inspiration from late 80's and early 90's bargain bin finds, as well as a lifetime spent strapped to Game Boy classic Kirby's Dream Land, Console Humidity finds Lyon on classically chipper yet introspective form, carving a path well trodden but that is unmistakeable his own. 

In his own words, the EP follows a loose narrative reflecting on the ebb and flow of ones mental state throughout any given day: where it lies as you wake, go about your day, meditate, stress, and rush about a busy unrecognisable city. Every console has its processing limits, and people are very much the same. Hopefully this collection strikes a balance between introspection and peace as it does rhythmic propulsion and face-screwing mirth. 

From the digital emotive-ambient transients of RNG Therapy, to the deep brooding house grumble of Silph Scope, the happy-go-lucky swagger and jazzy keys of Startup Tool, and the bizarre & comedic pandemonium of Overheated - Console Humidity is a lesson in life, a jump onto a surface of unknown dimensions, a conversation in practice and a method of practicing conversation. It is singular journey with real warmth and rough edges and an extra shot to give your day that little kick to get you going.

To launch their new record label, the guys at Bouquet. launch with a V/A compiling compelling and unusual tracks from both new and established artists, some that we know but all that we'll love. True to their namesake, Boquet offers up different shapes and shades and colours of music that went together pleasingly and cohesively. For this, they turned to a good friend and sonic florist, Caffeine Worldwide, who curated the compilation - a bit like Moonpig do for your marge on Mothers Day.

To create this stunning, aromatic bunch, they scoured Soundcloud for new artists, harassed friends and reached out to everyone they knew. Eight months and a thousand Facebook messages later, it’s finally ready for all to rinse. We're lucky to host @BlairSoundDesign's, Fern Cube - which is one of the most colourful varieties of the arrangement, bringing fun party vibes, right to your lug holes.

FPL presents the latest in its Digital Roast series, a single retrieved from the depths of Blair Sound Design's overstuffed hard-drive. 'Pastiche' was laid down during the "Interior Vista" era, where clean FM tones and new age thematics helped ease an otherwise stressed yet blessed boy. It has been rearranged and remixed for the present moment with a wider lens and kiss of electronica. On the digital B-side is "BSD Theme," a far cheekier MIDI jam presented in its demo state, a plastic 80's machine funker best played whilst organizing your endless stacks of Amiga500 floppy disks. 

Tracks made between 2015-2016; "Pastiche" polished and renewed 2019.

We are happy to say that French Press Lounge is back in action with the latest from Orlando's own Blair Sound Design, a four tracker aptly titled "4-In-1."

Kyle Lyon has had a wee obsession with the history and spoils of bootleg ephemera within and surrounding underground dance culture, video games, and consumerist visual culture at large. Whether it be an absurdly good unlicensed remix on a mysterious white label, an old RPG soundtrack from a long-defunct NES game developer or a remarkably "bad" utilization of classic house tropes, there lies a beguiling sense of charm and humanness in such things appropriated with creativity and love for the medium.

Returning under the Blair Sound Design name after releasing "Console Humidity" in 2018 with Lobster Theremin, Lyon begins to unload the multitude of sketches and tracks from the last 4 years that aim to explore and marry the crossover point of classic house stylings and illegal instances of entertainment technology. "4-In-1" is perhaps the most tool oriented selection in this coming wave, with a focus on wildly, loosely swung percussive maneuvers, scant use of melody, a drop of piano chords, decidedly busted sampling mechanics and big emphasis on his signature "8-Bit 808" sub-bass, culled from the Nanoloop Mono synthesizer cartridge using his own DMG-01 Gameboy handheld game system.

Rough, ready, and kind of annoying: "4-In-1" feels like an honest attempt to celebrate and crystallize the nascent thrill of electronic (re)production in an age of technological democratization and a culture obsessed with the notion of authenticity and the self, inherent or fabricated. As was once said,
