Dirk Maassen composes wonderful short piano pieces inspired by contemporary composers such as Yann Tiersen and Ludovico Einaudi. 

I took on his invitation to record any of his piano pieces, and told him I would record 'Addio'... just to find out that there was no score! ... So after working directly with him the score was created and here is my take on it.

MrFanatiq - Clarity Orchestral Mix

there's a story behind this track. some night about 6 months ago, i suddenly heard a couple of very loud bangs in our street. i could tell from the sounds that i was a car that has crashed. i was one of the first to run onto the street, still in my pyjama and on bare feet. there was a car standing in the the middle of the road, and it was quiet. at first i thought it wasn't as bad as i thought, as the car seemed relatively intact. but when i came closer and got to the other side of the car, it was clear that it had smashed head on into a tree and that i couldn't help the driver. a couple of minutes later, when the police, ambulance and fire brigade came, i watched everything from behind the window. about 2 hours later, a black tinted van left the scene. the driver had died.

all this had quite an impact on me, and the following nights it was hard to fall asleep. so i started making music. this track is what came out back then.

This song itself is a musical sequel to 'Adventures in your Sleep' from my first originals album. It's always felt like a bit of a theme tune of mine, so I really wanted to approach the track from a different angle. This rendition feels much bigger and bolder. Which one do you prefer - the version on the first album or this new one? Answers in the comments!

Mischief in your Daydreams (From my new album, Originals Vol 2. available for pre-order now)

SUPER METROID SYMPHONY  is the culmination of years of experience working with the Synthetic Orchestra and my biggest project to date. With the aim of faithfully recreating every piece of music from the series' 3rd game, the album is an hour long journey through 30 tracks that were lovingly crafted - minute by minute, note by note.

Super Metroid Symphony : Quicksand underneath Maridia (Preview)

Just a little remake of Lullaby of Resembool from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood's awesome soundtrack. I've been working on a sample library recently and not had any time to compose so I figured I'd have a quick play with it. Made in roughly an hour or so from start to finish.

Didn't think I'd have to put this, but ::Disclaimer:: This is not a demo of Sable and is not made to demonstrate it's capabilities - there will be plenty of demos on the Spitfire site showing what it can do. This is simply me playing about with a new toy I helped make to recreate a piece of music I love.

Ilya Beshevli - Night Forest (Live old Piano)

Just a little remake of One is All, All is One from the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood soundtrack. It's mostly faithful to the original but has little bits of Blake-Spin in it. It's a bit rough around the edges but I didn't want to spend too much time on it, so this is about 45 minutes of work.

When I initially saw this gate I thought of passing through it as if entering into a different world and so is the music...
