The affable young Chiati is a multi-instrumentalist who has banged, plucked and sung his way through childhood which, to be fair, wasn’t that long ago, having only recently turned 19. He likes music so much, he even decides to study it in the form of music technology and sound engineering before taking a year off to produce some real tracks for the world – and what a joy for the world. Except the tracks aren’t joyous, they’re ominous and dark, with basslines on this EP definitely hitting a pro gym membership, that’s how fit and punching their kicks are. But still with a vibrant touch that leaves you licking your fingers for more. And honestly, who doesn’t love a good licking?

‘Raw’ returns with the long awaited remixes of Kaiserdisco's 'Jet Stream', a summer smasher spun by almost every key DJ this summer and a key track in the sets of Solomun, Marco Carola, Tensnake or Adam Beyer.

Riding the pulses with perfect balance are the Brazilian connection Christian Smith and Wehbba, whose remix is a svelte classic of layers and loops, minimalism and maximums.

Diynamic’s star man H.O.S.H. goes Euro-skeletal, sharpening the original’s mechanoid riff to ricochet around the lab before bringing in an ear-piercing breakdown, and then embarking on a fuller, more celebratory vibe with his ‘Melodrama mix’.

The Junkies are tasked with taking ‘Ten Commandments’ to Toronto and give expert insight into cyclical techno, simultaneously sweeping the underground and sending down lightning bolts from up high.

‘Son of a Thousand Sounds’, the long-awaited sophomore LP from AFFKT is just around the corner (release date: September 23). But before that happens, we’re very glad to introduce 'Flashcrash' to you, the final single before the album's released.  

This new song once again features the stunning vocals of Sutja Gutierrez, a skilled singer who also appears on ‘The Show’ (the first single taken from the album) and ‘Someone in the Sky’ (second single).

The icing of this freshly baked cake is thanks to the remixers: Renato Cohen and dubspeeka, both highly respected artists, complete the diversified and sophisticated electronic journey of the Spanish talent. The São Paulo-based Cohen gives us our Debut Transmission, which demonstrates once again his natural talent on the groove, utilising snippets of the original's dynamic vocal layered with scratchy percussion loops. Whilst, on the other hand, the shadowy Bristolian producer dubspeeka delivers yet another booming smart-techno soundscape. An authentic intoxicating dancefloor cut.

Florian Kruse - Beyond The Bloom 

Following from his pair of stunning releases on Steve Bug’s Audiomatique in 2017, Berlin-based producer Florian Kruse drops another killer EP to kick off 2018. Kruse has built a reputation of his perfectly crafted dancefloor bombs, treading the in-between areas of techno and house for labels such as Selador, Poker Flat Recordings and Noir Music.

'Beyond the Bloom' is a perfect example of his approach - a tough groove designed to make you move, with a bubbling, restless bass pulse. The percussion is tight and snappy, and there's plenty of drama to keep the track moving along.

'Blind Traveler' - the name is taken from a piece of art - edges closer to the techno side of things, with a deep detonation aimed at the heart of the night. Built around a minimum of elements, each hit and synth stab is perfectly placed, creating a ferociously effective whole.

It’s been a long time…. Justin Jay lands on Pets for the first time since his ‘Momentum’ EP in 2015 with a clutch of deep rumbling house jams. And he’s bringing along and old friend for the voyage.
Last spotted in cahoots on Freerange in 2016 with ‘Indecision’, LA’s Justin Jay and Stockholm’s Ulf Blonde splash down together once again with the fittingly-titled ‘Journey Across The Treacherous Sea’. With the drums gradually building from ebbs to tidal waves and back again, the waters flip from choppy to calm as the twinkling moonlight breakdown enters the mix… Before throwing us overboard again.
Ulf takes the control of the ship’s wheel for ‘The Transatlantic Untz’. Building on his releases on labels such as Justin’s Fantastic Voyage, Culprit and Room Temperature, the warm bass-tickled kicks and gentle sense of momentum provides safe passage with full heads-down heat.
Last but not least, Justin provides the final captain’s orders with the deliciously trippy ‘Land Ahoy’. Laced with ricochet textures and a gradual ascent into blissful sci-fi cascades, it’s a game of total hypnosis as more bleeps fly and swoop across the mix.
